Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai Sets Festive Calendar Around Lanna Culture and Community Craft

Handmade cotton ornaments supporting a Thai Cancer Care project accompany Thanksgiving dining, Christmas gatherings and New Year celebrations in the Mae Rim Valley.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai has outlined festivities from November 26, 2026, through January 1, 2027.
  • Its Weave the Joy initiative offers ornaments handmade from local cotton, with proceeds supporting a Cancer Care project in Thailand.
  • Thanksgiving and Christmas dining will be hosted at NORTH by Four Seasons and Rim Tai Kitchen.
  • New Year’s Eve celebrations will feature Lanna dance and music, followed by a New Year’s Day meal at KHAO by Four Seasons.

Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai is tying its year-end holiday programme to Northern Thailand’s craft traditions, introducing a community-focused ornament initiative alongside a series of festive meals and celebrations running from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day.

Set in the Mae Rim Valley outside Chiang Mai, the resort is bringing together seasonal dining, Lanna cultural performances and handmade decorations in a programme designed to connect visitors with local traditions as well as the holiday calendar. The activities span November 26, 2026, to January 1, 2027, with events at several of the property’s restaurants and outdoor spaces.

Handmade ornaments support a community cause

The resort’s Weave the Joy initiative places local craftsmanship at the centre of its Christmas decorations. Team members are producing ornaments from locally sourced Chiang Mai cotton for a Christmas tree in the lobby, turning the display into a showcase of regional textile skills.

Visitors will also be able to obtain the ornaments as keepsakes during the festive period. The resort says all proceeds from the initiative will support a Cancer Care project in Thailand, adding a charitable component to its holiday programming.

“At its heart, the festive season is about connection,” said Ivan Giles, general manager of Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai. He described gatherings, local traditions and community support as central themes for the celebrations.

Thanksgiving and Christmas around the table

The dining calendar opens on November 26 with a Thanksgiving barbecue dinner at NORTH by Four Seasons. The outdoor evening focuses on open-fire cooking, seasonal dishes and shared dining in the Mae Rim Valley.

For December 24, Rim Tai Kitchen will host a Christmas Eve dinner accompanied by live music, with appearances by Santa Claus and Santa Rina for younger guests.

Christmas Day offers two different dining settings. A lunch at Rim Tai Kitchen will combine Thai, Asian and Western dishes, seafood and grilled selections with live entertainment and family activities. NORTH by Four Seasons will serve a family-style prix fixe dinner overlooking the resort’s rice fields that evening.

Lanna performances welcome 2027

The Magic of Thailand New Year’s Eve Celebration takes place on the Cocktail Lawn on December 31, combining live cooking stations, seafood and charcuterie with traditional Lanna dance and music. The evening builds towards a midnight countdown at the resort.

On January 1, 2027, KHAO by Four Seasons will host a New Year’s Day meal, with international dishes and live music overlooking the rice fields.

The emphasis on local craft and cultural performance differentiates the resort’s festive activities from a dining-only holiday itinerary, giving guests opportunities to encounter elements of Chiang Mai’s regional identity alongside seasonal celebrations. Further event information and dining arrangements are available through the resort’s official festive programme and resort website.
