MSC Cruises has opened bookings for a 119-night world voyage departing in January 2029, offering travellers a continuous journey through the Mediterranean, South America, the Pacific, Australia and Asia. The itinerary aboard MSC Magnifica spans 45 destinations in 21 countries, with nine overnight port calls and 15 shore excursions included in the cruise fare.

One of the distinguishing features of the 2029 MSC World Cruise itinerary is an extensive passage around Australia followed by calls in Indonesia. Travellers will be able to join the voyage at four Mediterranean ports: Civitavecchia, serving Rome, on 4 January 2029, followed by Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona. The line is selling the itinerary now, more than two years ahead of departure.

From Patagonia and the Pacific to Australia

The first stages take passengers west through the Mediterranean, with calls including Casablanca, before crossing the Atlantic towards Brazil and Argentina. The programme features overnight stays in Rio de Janeiro and Ushuaia. From Tierra del Fuego and Chile, the itinerary continues into the Pacific, including stops in French Polynesia and a new call at Lautoka, Fiji.

New Zealand brings another first-time port for the route at Timaru, as well as a return to scenic cruising through Milford Sound and Fiordland. Across the Tasman Sea, the Australian programme is unusually broad: alongside Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, MSC lists Kangaroo Island, Broome and Darwin among the new calls. A new overnight stop in Fremantle allows more time to explore the Perth area; Sydney is another overnight destination.

After Australia, the ship heads north through Indonesia, visiting islands including Bali, Lombok and Java. Celukan Bawang in northern Bali joins the itinerary as a new port, while Singapore provides another overnight call before the return towards Europe via the Indian Ocean and Suez Canal.

Ship upgrades and what the fare covers

The journey will take place on the refurbished MSC Magnifica, which has added MSC Yacht Club, the line’s separate suite-and-service concept. Yacht Club accommodation includes access to private lounges and outdoor areas, a dedicated restaurant, and butler and concierge services. Elsewhere on board, MSC describes five restaurants, 12 bars, a theatre, spa, fitness facilities and entertainment ranging from live performances to destination-themed activities.

MSC says the fare includes 15 organised excursions, a Dine & Drink package with a selection of beverages at lunch and dinner, and a 30% reduction on laundry services. The itinerary has been advertised from £16,854 in the UK market; the actual cost will depend on availability, accommodation choice and booking conditions.

Members of MSC Voyagers Club at Classic level or higher are eligible for a 5% booking discount. The company also announced a limited sales-opening promotion offering triple loyalty points on qualifying bookings made through 19 November 2026, with the points credited before sailing.

For travellers considering a months-long cruise, the itinerary offers one booking across multiple continents, but the length of the trip also makes careful planning important. Guests should examine the UK booking site or the MSC Cruises country selector for current cabin availability, fare rules, visa requirements and the precise port schedule. The itinerary and benefits are described in the official 2029 world cruise announcement.
