Wymara joins Preferred Hotels & Resorts with Grace Bay resort and Sunset Cove villas

The Providenciales property enters the Legend Collection while its 15 private villas become part of Preferred Residences, opening access to the I Prefer loyalty network.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Wymara Resort on Grace Bay Beach has joined the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection.
  • Wymara Villas at Sunset Cove will be represented in Preferred Residences.
  • The Grace Bay resort has 97 studios, suites and penthouses; the separate Sunset Cove development contains 15 private villas.
  • Eligible Wymara guests can join the I Prefer Hotel Rewards programme.

Travelers choosing between an oceanfront hotel and a more secluded villa stay in the Turks and Caicos Islands will now find both options represented in the same international luxury hotel network. Wymara Resort + Villas has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts, with its Grace Bay Beach resort entering the Legend Collection and its private Sunset Cove villas becoming part of Preferred Residences.

The arrangement, announced on 20 October 2026, broadens the distribution and loyalty reach of the independently operated Providenciales property while allowing its two distinct accommodation experiences to retain their individual identities. Preferred describes Legend as its luxury-focused collection, while Preferred Residences caters to travelers seeking private, residential-style accommodation with hotel services.

Beachfront hospitality on Grace Bay

On four beachfront acres overlooking Grace Bay Beach, Wymara Resort offers 97 studios, suites and penthouses characterized by bright contemporary interiors and large windows looking toward the Caribbean Sea. Its focal point is a 7,000-square-foot mosaic-tiled infinity pool, complemented by private cabanas and floating island seating areas.

The resort’s dining choices include Indigo, which serves Caribbean-influenced dishes, Blue Water Bistro at the waterfront and Pink Bar for sunset drinks. Wellness offerings combine 111SKIN treatments, locally produced skincare from Wildflower Skincare Lab and a daily complimentary wellness programme, according to the property description accompanying the announcement.

Private villas above Sunset Cove

A short distance away on Turtle Tail Peninsula, Wymara Villas, Sunset Cove occupies a 15-acre coastal site. Its 15 villas range from one to six bedrooms, each with a private infinity pool. Some have overwater swimming decks or slides into the sea. A dedicated Villa Experience Manager and Butler are available to assist guests, and transportation connects the villas with the Grace Bay resort.

The villa-only Sunset Cove Beach Club includes what Wymara describes as the Caribbean’s first ocean pool carved from coastal rock, alongside a lap pool, tennis and pickleball courts and treatment suites featuring 111SKIN. On-site restaurant Land + Sea focuses on island-inspired food in a waterfront setting. The separate facilities offer villa guests a quieter stay without entirely disconnecting them from the main resort’s restaurants and amenities.

Global distribution with an independent identity

For Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the addition brings a beachfront hotel and a villa-led residential experience into different parts of its portfolio. The company’s CEO, Lindsey Ueberroth, said the two settings complement the Legend and Preferred Residences offerings through their combination of design, privacy and personalized service.

Bruce Maclaren, owner of Wymara Resort + Villas, described the agreement as a way to introduce the property to a wider international audience. He cited the villas’ Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star recognition and the standing of Wymara’s restaurants on Tripadvisor. Shelley Rincon, Wymara’s CEO, likewise emphasized the importance of expanding the property’s reach without losing its individual character. These rankings and distinctions are claims presented in the resort’s announcement.

Guests staying at either part of Wymara may now enroll in I Prefer Hotel Rewards, Preferred’s complimentary points-based loyalty programme. Eligible stays at participating properties can earn points toward reward certificates and other programme benefits. Preferred says its wider network comprises more than 650 independent hotels, resorts, residences and groups across 80 countries.

For visitors planning a Turks and Caicos holiday, the change is primarily about how the resort is marketed and booked, as well as access to a broader loyalty ecosystem: Wymara remains an independent property offering the social atmosphere of Grace Bay alongside more private villa stays at Sunset Cove. Travelers can review property information through the Preferred Hotels & Resorts website.
