  • Hyatt Regency Lost Pines will close its 20th anniversary year with a holiday programme running from late November 2026 to New Year's Day 2027.
  • The resort's Christmas Suites return from November 26 through January 2, with reservations required by December 30.
  • Hanukkah observances include a December 4 story reading and menorah lightings each night through December 11.
  • Christmas dining, movie-themed firepit cabanas, spa activities and New Year's Eve fireworks form part of the seasonal schedule.

As its 20th anniversary year approaches its close, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa is preparing to turn its riverside grounds near Austin into a holiday destination with celebrations extending from late November into the first days of 2027. The programme brings together Christmas traditions, Hanukkah observances, family activities and New Year festivities, alongside the outdoor experiences for which the Texas resort is known.

The 405-acre property in Cedar Creek has scheduled seasonal activities beginning November 25, 2026, with its public Christmas tree lighting on November 27 and a New Year’s Day brunch on January 1. Christmas-themed accommodation will remain available through January 2. The calendar reflects a resort approach to the festive period: rather than concentrating celebrations on a single evening, it offers activities across consecutive days for families planning a longer stay.

The holiday schedule also rounds out an anniversary year that marked two decades since the resort opened on June 1, 2006, a milestone commemorated earlier this year. General manager Irby Morvant said familiar guests return in December with established traditions, including breakfasts with Santa and evenings around the fire pits. The resort is building this year’s programme around those recurring experiences as well as new opportunities for guests to spend time together.

Festive rooms, fireside films and Christmas traditions

One of the most visible features of the programme is the return of the Christmas Suites for a second season. Available from November 26 through January 2, the rooms will be decorated with a lit Christmas tree and other seasonal touches. Reservations for these suites must be made by December 30. Guests staying in other accommodation categories can also arrange for a decorated five-foot tree to be placed in their room before arrival during December. The resort lists its Christmas Suite accommodation among its published offers.

On November 27 at 6 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus are due to light the lobby’s Christmas tree at an event open to the public, followed by outdoor holiday films and opportunities for photographs. Later in the season, Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus will take place on Sundays from November 29 to December 20 at Heartwood House; additional Santa meetings are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays through December 19. Christmas Eve brings a reading of The Night Before Christmas.

For guests who prefer a more private evening, the Cozy Christmas Cabanas are planned from Thursday through Sunday between November 27 and December 27. Each offers a fire pit and a private television screening of either Elf or Home Alone, accompanied by marshmallows or s’mores. Separate reservable Pine Cove fire pits overlooking Lost Pines Pond provide seating for up to six guests, a picnic blanket and a s’mores kit.

Children’s activities extend beyond the Santa visits. Santa’s Workshop, scheduled daily from November 27 through December 24, will provide space for crafts and letters to Santa. Ticketed options include making plush animals, preparing reindeer feed, designing charm bracelets and working with sensory-friendly imitation snow. The activities have different operating dates, with some sessions continuing after Christmas and into December 31.

Hanukkah and time outdoors

The resort’s Hanukkah programme includes a reading of Hanukkah Bear by Eric A. Kimmel on December 4, followed by nightly menorah lightings from December 4 to December 11. These observances sit alongside the wider seasonal schedule, providing another way for visiting families to participate in holiday traditions while away from home.

Between organised events, the resort’s surroundings remain part of the attraction. Guests can meet alpacas, goats and longhorns, spend an evening roasting s’mores or take a 15-minute horse-drawn wagon ride around the grounds with TD Renegade Adventures. The property’s year-round recreation also includes animal encounters, riding and outdoor pursuits, giving visitors options beyond the festive calendar.

Holiday dining and a wellness programme

The main Christmas Day meal is planned for December 25 at Riverbend Event Barn, where a buffet will offer dishes including roasted prime rib, glazed ham, salmon, seafood, gnocchi and a children’s selection. On December 31, the Lost Pines Grand Ballroom will host a New Year’s Eve Grand Buffet with prime rib, snapper, lobster, shellfish and other courses. Fireworks above Lost Pines Pond are planned to welcome 2027, with reserved seating and private fire pits available for viewing. Two brunch seatings in the Baron’s Ballroom will follow on January 1.

The programme is not limited to family entertainment and dining. Lost Pines Spa has scheduled mala-bracelet workshops on November 25, December 23 and December 30, along with classes in blending body products, yoga, Pilates and skincare for teenagers. Floating sound baths are planned for November 29 and December 27. A New Year Intentions session on the morning of December 31 combines yoga, sound meditation and journaling.

With 490 guestrooms and suites, a golf course, spa facilities and extensive outdoor recreation space, the resort can combine holiday-specific experiences with a conventional destination-resort stay. That mix may be particularly relevant to multigenerational groups seeking different activities without leaving the property, although individual workshops, fire pits and dining experiences may require separate arrangements.

Travellers considering a stay can review the resort’s holiday information or contact the property on 512-308-1234 to check reservations and event arrangements. The festive calendar culminates on New Year’s Day, while the decorated Christmas Suites extend the holiday setting into January 2.
