Love is a Roguelite (or LIAR for Short)

A unique tactical turn-based deck-builder featuring a procedurally generated love story and an emotion-driven relationship system.

TORONTO, ONTARIO – October 20, 2026 – Titan1Studios announced today during the IGN ID@XBOX Showcase that their upcoming title, Love is a Roguelite (or LIAR for short), will officially launch in Q4 2027. The genre-defying title will be available across XBOX platforms including XBOX Series X|S, PC, and Cloud Gaming, as well as on Steam and Meta VR.

Love is a Roguelite is a tactical turn-based deck-builder set within a procedurally generated love story. It challenges players to navigate the unpredictable complexities of a relationship while battling through dastardly alien hordes and dynamic bosses. They say love is a battlefield, and LIAR gives players a unique chance at winning it.

Set across a Sci-Fi Western frontier where choices matter only until you die, Love is a Roguelite pairs the tactical depth of Baldur’s Gate and Slay the Spire with the romantic friction of a time-looping dating sim. Players must master grid-based combat alongside their companion, navigating raw emotional stakes and fragmented memories across runs that reset every time the player falls.

  • Tactics Meets Deckbuilding: Engage in tactical turn-based combat driven by card actions. Master your hand, leverage the battlefield environment, and coordinate directly with your lover to survive lethal encounters. Unlock powerful upgrades, enhance your deck, and push meta-progression across runs to unlock new card archetypes and discover lasting love.
     
  • Dating-Sim Narrative Layer: Between brutal combat encounters, transition directly into an intimate Dating-Sim story loop (reminiscent of Love and Deepspace). Romance your companion, navigate raw emotional friction, and piece together fragmented memories across successive lifetimes.
     
  • The LoveSync System: Experience a relationship driven by a proprietary emotional model. Through an AI Sync UI, your companion develops unique emotions, opinions, and a moral compass over the course of your journey. Prepare to be surprised as they make their own choices, reacting to the world and to you—even if those choices don't align with your goals.
     
  • Love The Way You Want: Inclusivity is at the heart of the experience. Mix and match your Avatar and your companion’s Avatar between Male, Female, Non-binary, and Alien presenting options.
