A grandmother, ten increasingly absurd sock generators, and a mystery that actually has an ending.
Sonomio Games, an independent game studio based in Spain, announces that Lost Sock Simulator 3000 will launch on Steam and Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2026.
In this incremental idle clicker, players help Grandma Gertrude Knitmore recover her missing socks. What begins as a simple household mystery quickly spirals into an increasingly ridiculous operation of sock collection, automation, and ever-growing numbers.
Players start by clicking to find socks and gradually unlock 10 increasingly absurd generators, from an ordinary Sock Drawer to the almighty Sock God. Each new investment increases production, while clicking becomes more valuable as players progress. Before long, the screen begins filling with an overwhelming number of recovered socks.
The generators continue producing socks while players are idle, including when the game is closed. However, Gertrude, inspired by the developers' beloved Spanish grandmothers, won't hesitate to scold players for slacking off. It's all part of the joke, and sock production never stops.
The game's sound effects were created by Sonomio Games, drawing inspiration from the familiar, almost ASMR-like sounds of a washing machine in operation.
And yes, unlike an endless sock hunt, Lost Sock Simulator 3000 has a proper ending. Because even Grandma Gertrude deserves to know where the hell all her socks have gone!
