Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis Debuts, Bringing a New Home Base to the Gateway City

Historic downtown hotel ushers in new chapter with 142 guestrooms & dining rooted in the story of St. Louis
CHICAGO, October 19, 2026--Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis, the first Hyatt Centric hotel in the state of Missouri. Located at 1501 Washington Avenue, the historic hotel puts guests in the heart of downtown St. Louis, with the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, City Museum, Forest Park, America's Center Convention Complex and MetroLink all within easy reach. Housed in a 1910 building that helped shape Washington Avenue's role in the city's garment and footwear industry, Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis uniquely connects guests with the city's rich history.
The eleven-story building where Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis is located was constructed as the headquarters for Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Company, one of the major players in St. Louis's shoe manufacturing industry in the early twentieth century. Architecturally, the building is significant for its Sullivanesque design, featuring slender vertical columns, elaborate ornamentation and Art Nouveau influences. Its distinctive façade remains an important reminder of the era when Washington Avenue was at the center of St. Louis's garment and footwear industries.
The hotel's 142 guestrooms pair contemporary décor with abundant natural light, high ceilings, oversized windows and city views. Honoring its historic roots, the industrial-inspired rooms and suites reflect St. Louis's welcoming, down-to-earth character, with open layouts, modern furnishings and select rooms offering a dedicated seating area with a sofa.
Designed for lighthearted travelers with an adventurous spirit, Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis serves as a home base for discovery, placing guests at the heart of the city providing easy access to the city's culture, dining and entertainment.
"Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis gives World of Hyatt members and guests a new way to experience the city from the center of the action," said Bill Tirone, General Manager, Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis. "With a welcoming address, thoughtful spaces to gather and easy access to the places that make St. Louis special, the hotel brings the city's history forward rather than treating it as a backdrop, giving guests a downtown base with a genuine sense of place."
Guests and locals can gather at The Link, the hotel's lobby restaurant and bar, which serves locally sourced, sophisticated New American dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu features St. Louis-inspired favorites, including toasted ravioli and The Hill Classic pizza, alongside offerings prepared in the restaurant's signature wood-burning pizza oven and wood-fired grill. The Link's name references Theodore C. Link, the St. Louis architect associated with the historic building and best known for designing St. Louis Union Station. Guests can also gather at the Lobby Bar or enjoy 24-hour grab-and-go convenience at Provisions, a market featuring sandwiches, salads, and other essentials.
