Frankfurt Airport is preparing for a winter of new intercontinental options, with nonstop flights to Kuala Lumpur, a new airline connection to Sharjah and more departures to Abu Dhabi among the most significant changes to its 2026/27 schedule. The timetable takes effect on October 25, 2026, and remains in operation through March 27, 2027.

Airport operator Fraport says 80 airlines are scheduled to serve 231 destinations in 92 countries. The published programme provides approximately 3,400 departures and 650,000 seats each week, underscoring Frankfurt’s continued role as an international connecting hub for German and overseas travellers. The figures describe the planned winter timetable rather than flights already operated, and Fraport cautions that further schedule adjustments remain possible.

New connections strengthen options for Asia and the Gulf

The biggest new long-haul addition is Lufthansa‘s nonstop service to Kuala Lumpur, scheduled five times a week from the beginning of the winter season. For travellers headed to Malaysia, the service adds a direct alternative to itineraries that would otherwise require a connection.

The Gulf network is also changing. Air Arabia, a newcomer to Frankfurt, is due to introduce daily flights to Sharjah on December 15. Condor plans to start daily flights to Abu Dhabi on November 4 in cooperation with Etihad Airways; the service continues onward to Bangkok. Etihad is expected to add another daily Abu Dhabi frequency in December, giving passengers a choice of up to three daily Frankfurt–Abu Dhabi flights.

Condor’s daily Tel Aviv service, introduced in the summer, is also scheduled to continue through winter. As with other announced services, actual operating plans may change.

Morocco and European connections broaden the winter network

Discover Airlines is bringing Agadir into its winter programme for the first time, with two weekly flights to the Moroccan coastal destination. Royal Air Maroc is meanwhile moving its Frankfurt–Nador service from seasonal to year-round operation, increasing the options for visits outside the traditional peak season.

Closer to home, Condor will maintain its London Gatwick route, offering up to three daily departures, while DAT will continue flying between Frankfurt and Linz in Austria up to three times a day. Both routes began in the summer and are now being retained for the winter timetable.

Additional frequencies and more choices across Asia

Several existing Asian routes are being sustained or expanded. Air China will keep flying to Beijing Daxing alongside the airport’s established links to Beijing Capital. China Southern will continue to stop in Ürümqi twice a week on its Guangzhou flights.

Air India is adding a weekly frequency on each of its Frankfurt routes to Delhi and Mumbai, bringing their respective totals to 13 and six weekly services. Connections to Tashkent will continue to be offered by Qanot Sharq and Centrum Air alongside Uzbekistan Airways.

For travellers planning winter travel, the changes mean more direct routes and some additional scheduling flexibility, particularly towards Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates and Morocco. Service frequencies, availability and individual flight dates should nevertheless be checked before booking. Full programme details are published in Fraport’s official winter schedule announcement.
