The Second in the Series, BigFire Games’ New Dev Video Explains Strategic Use of Weapons, Gear, and Vehicles in Upcoming Sci-Fi Shooter
IRVINE, CA – OCTOBER 19, 2026 – NC (formerly NCSOFT) issued a new Developer Video today that walks players through a variety of deep military tactics to combat high-tech mercenaries, demons, and mutated creatures in the upcoming cinematic open-world shooter, CINDER CITY. BigFire Games’ upcoming game is a sci-fi cinematic shooter set in a dystopian near-future Seoul.
Following the Gamescom 2026 trailer introducing the story of the protagonist, Seven, today’s video presents players with familiar modern firearms alongside futuristic 23rd-century weapons. CINDER CITY’s core strategic combat lies in the intelligent use of ‘Tactical Gear’, character-specific skills that redefine the battlefield.

TACTICAL CHOICES, STRATEGIC COMBINATIONS
Using Tactical Gear means mastering specialized shields, support bots, firearms, deployable traps, and shield recovery, as well as learning how each one requires different resources and uses different cooldowns. The key to becoming the ultimate Cinderknight is to find the best strategic combination for each unique combat instance.
VEHICLES IN THE OPEN WORLD
Learning the variety of weapons is key, and so is using the right vehicle in the right situation. Motorbikes, cars, helicopters, and power loaders are strewn throughout the city. Vehicles and mechs have a variety of purposes and weapons: For instance, air superiority with a helicopter or firepower with a Power Loader can make a huge difference in a boss fight!
The Open World is full of choices. During exploration of Seoul’s diverse terrain, players might come across other Cinderknights performing side missions or dynamic events. Players can join those efforts and help each other out without needing to join their party, creating a more seamless multiplayer experience.
OPEN WORLD BOSSES, DUNGEONS AND MORE
While exploring the vast city of Seoul, players might come across field bosses, who usually signal “tough challenge lies ahead”! Instead of going it alone, solo players should probably retreat and gather a larger squad to take them down.
For a tighter experience, Instanced Dungeons are a four-player activity. Each boss has unique mechanics. Teamwork, strategic planning, and smart use of tactical gear are required to clear these areas.
Then there are Open World bosses. These are the game’s ultimate challenges, its biggest events that players encounter in CINDER CITY. These are large-scale co-op raids with countless Cinderknights fighting against a mammoth world-changing entity.
