Demo now available as part of Steam Next Fest

Hawaii, United States - October 19, 2026 - Indie dev duo Mallorian and FloralNoise are today pleased to announce that their short-form psychological horror fishing game HOOKEYE will launch for PC via Steam on December 9.

 

Furthermore, a playable demo is available now right as part of Steam Next Fest, offering up a bite-sized taste of this surreal, sodden and meditative descent through one fisherman’s psyche.

Set on a salty, damp dock just off the Californian coast, HOOKEYE, is a tragic fable of obsession, loss, sacrifice… and questionable bait. It invites players to partake in a thrilling and compulsive cycle of risk and reward, as they desperately attempt to reel in the illustrious siren.  

 

The siren’s beautiful, yet maddening song calls out from deep beneath the waves, urging players to keep casting their line out in search of a bigger and better catch. Each fish they reel in can be used to bait larger fish as they work towards the ultimate prize.

 

As a manic fervour takes hold, resources will soon dwindle and sanity will falter. Sacrifices must be made to keep fishing. The ocean demands it. What will they be willing to risk to keep fishing?

  • Choose your execution: All fish serve to get you a bigger fish, you just have to make the right choices.

  • Psychological horror: Follow the fisherman as his senses begin to deceive him. Embrace the meditative descent. 

  • Scrap for resources: You have limited bait and hooks. When things run dry, you'll have to improvise with what you have.

  • A relentless story: Dive into the past; these damned talking fish have already done it for you.

  • Reel in the siren: The siren is out there. It calls to you, and you're here to take ahold of it.
