Chatsi Announces $2.5 Million Seed Financing Commitment to Expand AI Sales Agents for Ecommerce
Chatsi, an AI sales agent platform for ecommerce, today announced a $2.5 million seed financing commitment led by Jonathan Ord, co-founder of DealerSocket. Funding is structured to be provided in stages under the investment agreement and will support continued product development and expansion across consumer and business commerce.
Chatsi brings merchants’ product expertise into online shopping conversations. Its AI sales agents answer questions, explain differences between products, and guide buyers toward options that fit their needs, particularly when technical details or complex catalogs make choosing difficult.
Chatsi works with leading global brands across business-to-consumer (B2C), direct-to-consumer (D2C), and business-to-business (B2B) commerce, including motorsports and powersports, automotive aftermarket, consumer electronics, luxury goods, jewelry, fashion, and technical products. The company also sees opportunities for guided selling in industrial products and other specialized categories where buyers need help understanding specifications, compatibility, and product differences.
“Shoppers often need a little more guidance before they’re ready to make a significant purchase online,” said Ken Garff, founder and CEO of Chatsi. “They’re asking questions like, ‘Will this work with what I already have?’ We help brands bring their product expertise into that moment, so shoppers can move forward with confidence. This funding gives us room to keep improving that experience and support more merchants.”
“Building a CRM for car dealers taught me how much understanding a customer’s needs matters in the sales process,” said Jonathan Ord, co-founder of DealerSocket and lead investor in the round. “Chatsi brings that customer-first focus to online selling, helping shoppers work through questions and choose the right products with greater confidence. I’m excited to support Ken and the team as they build on that opportunity.”
“Leading engineering and operations in Commerce Trust & Safety at Shopify taught me how much every customer interaction matters,” said Kosar Jaff, former Vice President of Engineering at Shopify and technical advisor to Chatsi. “What stands out to me about Chatsi is the team’s focus on protecting the trust merchants have built in their brands. Even a small misstep in an AI conversation can undermine that trust. Chatsi takes that responsibility seriously, grounding its guidance in the merchant’s own knowledge and treating the quality of each interaction as part of the brand experience.”
“We’re building technology that helps merchants serve shoppers today while preparing for how people will discover and buy products tomorrow,” said Garff. “Our roadmap connects greater visibility in AI-powered search with a more personal shopping experience from the moment someone arrives on a merchant’s website. We want to help brands turn that first visit into a useful sales conversation, bringing their product expertise to each shopper’s needs, one person and one moment at a time.”
Garff previously founded Amplifi.io, a product information and digital asset management platform acquired by Pattern in 2021, where he subsequently served as a division president.
