Caregility Honors Healthcare Innovators Driving Measurable Impact Through Connected Care
2026 Customer Summit Awards recognize Baptist Health, Johns Hopkins Health System, Rome Health, Rutgers School of Nursing, and UMass Memorial Health for advancing virtual care innovation, clinical efficiency, and collaboration
Caregility, the global leader in AI-enabled enterprise connected care, today announced the recipients of its 2026 Customer Summit Awards, recognizing five healthcare organizations demonstrating how virtual care is transforming clinical workflows, expanding access to expertise, and preparing the next generation of caregivers. From returning thousands of hours to bedside nursing teams to scaling virtual care across dozens of clinical applications, this year's honorees illustrate the growing role of connected care as an essential component of healthcare delivery. The awards were presented during Caregility's 2026 Customer Summit, held September 30 through October 2 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The annual gathering brought healthcare leaders together to share real-world outcomes, implementation strategies, impact, and emerging opportunities in virtual nursing, AI-assisted workflows, connected patient rooms, and enterprise virtual care.
"Virtual care is no longer defined by individual programs or technology deployments," said Ron Gaboury, CEO of Caregility. "It's becoming an integral part of how healthcare organizations deliver care. This year's award recipients are demonstrating what's possible when technology, clinical expertise, and thoughtful workflow design come together to address some of healthcare's most pressing challenges."
2026 Caregility Customer Summit Award Recipients
Rome Health | Emerging Leader in Virtual Care
Rome Health, a rural health system in upstate New York, was recognized for building a virtual nursing program grounded in frontline engagement, practical workflow design, and measurable clinical impact.
By involving bedside nurses in program development and prioritizing high-value workflows such as admissions, discharges, patient education, and family collaboration, Rome Health established a foundation for sustainable adoption and expansion.
In just months, Rome Health completed more than 1,400 virtual nursing workflows and returned an estimated 718 hours of nursing time to bedside care, demonstrating how rural health systems can achieve meaningful operational improvements through virtual care. The implementation was funded by a grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
Johns Hopkins Health System | Virtual Care Trailblazer
Johns Hopkins Health System was honored for rapidly expanding virtual nursing beyond traditional admission and discharge workflows to support a broader range of clinical and operational needs.
Its evolving program encompasses nurse mentoring, medication verification, second skin assessments, MyChart activation, patient education, quality monitoring, and post-discharge outreach.
In its first year, the program supported more than 18,000 virtual sessions and returned more than 3,300 hours of nursing time to bedside teams, illustrating the potential for virtual nursing to extend clinical capacity while supporting care quality and team efficiency.
Baptist Health |Virtual Care Pioneer
Arkansas-based Baptist Health was recognized for its longstanding leadership in connected care and continued evolution toward an enterprise-wide virtual care strategy.
Building on a foundation of fixed, in-room connected care technology, Baptist Health has expanded its virtual care capabilities to support more than 20 specialized programs spanning virtual nursing, patient safety, psychiatry, neurology, wound care, lactation, pharmacy, case coordination, and dietary services. By midyear 2026, its virtual nursing program alone had reached 46,015 encounters, underscoring the scale and versatility of virtual care when integrated into an organization's broader clinical infrastructure.
Rutgers School of Nursing | Community Impact Award
Rutgers School of Nursing received the Community Impact Award for its commitment to preparing future nurses for an increasingly connected, technology-enabled healthcare environment.
Through its collaboration with Caregility, Rutgers is incorporating virtual care technology and practical digital health experiences into nursing education and patient care simulation labs, while developing a new Virtual Nurse credentialing program.
The initiative helps bridge the gap between nursing education and evolving clinical practice, preparing students to confidently navigate virtual care workflows and collaborative care models before entering the workforce.
UMass Memorial Health | Champion of Collaborative Care
UMass Memorial Health was recognized for its collaborative approach to connecting clinical expertise, care teams, and communities.
At the center of this strategy is the organization's Digital Hub, which brings together capabilities spanning transfer and access, eICU, remote video monitoring, care at home, remote patient monitoring, interpreter services, and other digital health programs. With thousands of virtual critical care encounters supported through its eICU program, UMass Memorial Health demonstrates how centralized digital infrastructure can help extend specialized expertise, strengthen coordination, and support care delivery across settings.
As host of the 2026 Caregility Customer Summit, UMass Memorial Health also welcomed fellow healthcare leaders to experience its Digital Hub firsthand, reinforcing its commitment to collaboration and shared innovation.
Advancing Connected Care Through Shared Innovation
Together, this year's award recipients represent different stages and dimensions of virtual care transformation, from emerging programs delivering early measurable returns to established enterprise strategies and educational initiatives helping prepare the future healthcare workforce. Their experiences also underscore the importance of peer collaboration in accelerating connected care adoption and translating innovation into sustainable clinical and operational improvements.
"The most valuable insights often come from healthcare organizations willing to share not just their successes, but what they've learned along the way," said Mike Brandofino, President and COO of Caregility. "Our Customer Summit creates an opportunity for these leaders to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and help shape the next generation of connected care. We're proud to recognize this year's honorees for both their achievements and their commitment to advancing healthcare."
