Mployer Names Steve Strickland Chief Technology Officer
Healthcare technology leader brings enterprise scale and precision to Mployer's benefits and insurance intelligence platform as the industry enters a new AI era. Strickland joins Mployer from HealthTrust Performance Group, where he led engineering globally for the nation's largest healthcare group purchasing organization.
Mployer, the industry's leading employee benefits and insurance intelligence platform, today announced that Steve Strickland has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer. Strickland, who stepped into the role earlier this year, leads all technology, including Mployer's AI-native platform and member-contributed data assets.
Strickland joins Mployer from HealthTrust Performance Group, the nation's largest healthcare group purchasing organization, which manages over $1 trillion in purchasing spend for 1,700+ hospitals and health systems and more than 70,000 non-acute sites of care. Strickland led engineering globally for HealthTrust, focused on using technology to drive down costs across health systems nationally.
"Steve is one of the most talented healthcare technology leaders in the country. He spent his career on the provider side, building the platforms behind purchasing decisions for health systems nationally. Steve now brings that scale and precision to the $1.5 trillion employer-sponsored healthcare and insurance market," said Brian Freeman, CEO of Mployer. "His pace and intellect, paired with what AI makes possible now, will raise what our partners are able to do for the employers and employees they serve."
Historically, limited data and resources have existed to support brokers, consultants and employers in making benefits decisions, which is one of the drivers of increased medical spend annually. Mployer works with leading insurance advisors, carriers, PBMs, and other industry stakeholders to build the industry's largest member-contributed benefits data asset, giving its members a competitive advantage with analytics and benchmarks to bring down the cost of benefits and insurance for the employers they serve.
"Employer-sponsored care and benefits are an opaque, $1.5 trillion market, and one of the largest annual costs for employers and more than 160 million Americans. Mployer and its partner network have built the data asset and AI-enablement platform to change that. The opportunity now is to put it to work at scale for the advisors and employers who need it," said Strickland.
At Mployer, Strickland leads technology and product across the company's platform, including Catalyst, Insights, Vista, Pulse, and Atlas. His priorities include continuing to scale the company's AI capabilities and expanding the data platform in this next era.
