Laughlin Puts Colorado River Escapes and Desert Adventures in Focus with Keep It Floaty Campaign

Southern Nevada destination showcases river excursions, eight waterfront resorts, six golf courses and an autumn lineup of live entertainment.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Laughlin’s new Keep It Floaty campaign encourages more flexible Colorado River getaways about 90 miles south of Las Vegas.
  • Activities highlighted include jet boat tours, dinner cruises, watersports, desert trails and nine stone labyrinths.
  • Eight riverfront resorts and six area golf courses feature in the destination’s autumn travel pitch.
  • The advertised event calendar includes Nelly and Lil Jon on October 24 and Bailey Zimmerman on November 14.

A Colorado River getaway with time for boat rides, desert walks and unhurried evenings is the focus of Laughlin’s new “Keep It Floaty” tourism campaign. Launched by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the promotion presents the southern Nevada resort community as an alternative to tightly scheduled city breaks, encouraging visitors to explore waterside activities, outdoor attractions and entertainment at their own pace.

Located about 90 miles south of Las Vegas, Laughlin combines a concentration of riverfront hotels with access to the Mojave Desert. The campaign plays with that contrast through surreal scenes, including a visitor floating through a resort restaurant on a lounge chair and crossing a casino lobby on a jet ski. These are advertising concepts rather than activities offered inside the properties, but they establish the campaign’s laid-back tone.

Colorado River trips set the pace

The Colorado River is central to a Laughlin stay. Visitors can take a scenic trip towards Lake Havasu City and its London Bridge with London Bridge Jet Boat Tours, book a dinner cruise with Laughlin River Tours, or arrange rentals such as kayaks, paddleboards and jet skis through local riverfront operators.

Accommodation choices span eight riverfront resort properties identified in the campaign, among them Aquarius Casino Resort, Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino, Edgewater Casino Resort, Golden Nugget Laughlin, Laughlin River Lodge and The New Pioneer. The destination is also promoting Harrah’s Laughlin and Tropicana Laughlin. Facilities and experiences vary by property, so travellers should check individual offerings before booking.

Concerts and holiday performances extend the autumn calendar

The campaign highlights a lineup of concerts and seasonal entertainment. Nelly and Lil Jon are scheduled at the Laughlin Event Center on October 24, followed by Bailey Zimmerman on November 14. Holiday programming cited by the tourism authority includes The Nutcracker Ballet at Riverside Resort on December 10 and Cirque Musical Holiday Wonderland at Edgewater on December 12. Travellers should confirm performance times, tickets and any schedule changes with the venues.

Desert trails and nine stone labyrinths

Away from the resorts, the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails offers connected walking, cycling and equestrian routes near Davis Dam. The official destination guide describes nine miles of developed trails, with routes of different lengths and accessibility levels, picnic areas and river viewpoints.

Another unusual stop is the Laughlin Labyrinths, nine stone pathways created in the desert near Thomas Edison Drive. The site offers a quiet excursion contrasting with the activity along the riverfront.

Golf is another component of Laughlin’s year-round visitor offer. The promotional itinerary points to six area courses: El Rio Golf Club, Huukan Golf Club, Laughlin Ranch Golf Club, Los Lagos Golf Club, Mojave Resort Golf Club and Rivers Edge Golf Club. Playing conditions, green fees and availability differ among courses.

With the campaign, the LVCVA is positioning Laughlin as a flexible itinerary destination that can combine river recreation, live shows and desert scenery without requiring visitors to organise every hour of their stay. Additional visitor information and trip-planning resources are available through Visit Laughlin.
