FONTANA, California — Halloween celebrations in Southern California are getting a canine twist this weekend as the City of Fontana prepares to welcome costumed dogs and their families to its annual Halloween Howl at Fontana Park Dog Park on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Running from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., the community event brings the seasonal festivities outdoors, with a Pup Costume Parade at the centre of the programme. Owners are invited to dress up alongside their four-legged companions, turning the dog park into a setting for imaginative Halloween costumes and family photographs.

Organised by the city’s Community Services Department, Halloween Howl offers a pet-focused addition to Fontana’s autumn events calendar. The parade is intended to give participating dogs and their owners a chance to display their costumes while sharing an afternoon with other local animal lovers.

Planning a visit to Fontana’s Halloween Howl

The event takes place at Fontana Park Dog Park, 15610 Summit Avenue, on Saturday, October 17, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The city’s official events page confirms the date, time and venue. A community event listing describes admission and parking as free, and mentions additional activities, giveaways and vendors.

For visitors exploring Fontana’s Halloween calendar, the city also lists a Spooky Splash dive-in movie later on October 17, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Fontana Park Aquatic Center. The pairing of daytime pet festivities and an evening family event provides two distinct ways to mark the weekend in the same area.

Residents and visitors seeking updates about Halloween Howl or other city events can consult the City of Fontana events calendar or contact the Jessie Turner Health & Fitness Community Center at (909) 854-5100.
