Delta Expands Iceland Connections with Daily Boston–Keflavík Flights for Summer 2027

The seasonal route will run from April 12 through October 30 aboard Boeing 757-200 aircraft, creating a new nonstop option for New England travellers.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Delta plans daily nonstop flights between Boston Logan (BOS) and Keflavík (KEF) from April 12 to October 30, 2027.
  • The seasonal service is scheduled to use Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
  • The route adds a nonstop Iceland option from Boston and connections across Delta’s US network.
  • Delta first began nonstop service between New York and Iceland in 2011.

Delta Air Lines is adding a daily nonstop link between Boston Logan International Airport and Keflavík International Airport for summer 2027, giving travellers from New England another route into Iceland and passengers departing Iceland a new gateway to the United States.

According to details published by Keflavík Airport and Delta’s newsroom, the service is scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027, and continue daily through October 30. Flights will operate on Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The airport announcement positions Boston as an important addition to Iceland’s expanding summer schedule, particularly for journeys combining Iceland with destinations farther into North America.

More options for travellers between Iceland and the United States

Boston is an established transatlantic gateway and a major base in Delta’s US network. The new nonstop service will enable travellers in the Boston region to reach Iceland without a connection, while passengers flying in the opposite direction can use Boston to connect to other US destinations. For visitors planning an Iceland itinerary, the April-to-October operating window spans the spring shoulder season, peak summer and early autumn.

Delta has been serving Iceland since 2011, when it began nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Keflavík. The Boston addition therefore expands an existing relationship with Iceland rather than introducing the airline to the market for the first time.

Grétar Már Garðarsson, Keflavík Airport’s Director of Airlines and Marketing, welcomed the planned connection, describing the Boston metropolitan area as one of the airport’s important North American markets. He said the new service would create additional opportunities for passengers travelling in either direction and strengthen Iceland’s ties with the United States.

A further step in Boston’s transatlantic expansion

In its own October 16 network update, Delta identified Reykjavík/Keflavík as an additional long-haul destination from Boston for its 2027 summer programme. The airline said the Boeing 757-200 used on the route would include Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main accommodation, providing passengers with a choice of cabin products on the Atlantic crossing.

The Boston–Keflavík flight joins other additions and seasonal adjustments in Delta’s wider European flying programme, reflecting an emphasis on both new city pairs and longer operating seasons. For Iceland, it also diversifies nonstop access to a major US origin market. Travellers should check current schedules and booking conditions through Delta Air Lines before making plans, as future airline schedules remain subject to change.
