Beady AI Automates KYC Checks Using Public Data Instead of ID Documents

Beady AI has built a KYC automation service that checks customers against sanctions lists, PEP databases, news coverage and company records by name, and keeps checking them after onboarding.

International - Oct 21, 2026 (UTC) - Most onboarding checks confirm that a customer is a real person. Few tell a business whether that person was sanctioned last month, faces fraud charges abroad, or sits on the board of a company nobody can trace. Beady AI, a risk intelligence platform from We Good Solutions Limited, offers a KYC service built for those questions.

The AI KYC automation software starts with a name. An analyst enters a customer, counterparty or company, and Beady checks it against the OFAC, EU, UN and UK HM Treasury sanctions lists, PEP databases, criminal records and law enforcement watchlists. It also scans news from more than 100,000 public sources and a database of over 200 million legal entities and officers, showing directorships, shareholdings and former roles. The customer does not have to upload anything.

Screening a common name can bring back dozens of namesakes. Beady weighs identifiers, ownership links and source reliability before matching a result to the right person. According to the company, this removes up to 95% of false positives before anyone reviews them. Findings go into one profile, sorted by severity, with a link to the original record next to each one.

Monitored customers are screened again every day. If a new sanction, charge or negative news story appears, Beady flags it within hours, usually well before a scheduled review would catch it. The platform also tracks public social media and looks for fake accounts posing as customers, executives or companies. Daily summaries can be sent to Telegram, and a one-time screening option is available for single checks before a deal or account opening.

“A lot of KYC still means collecting a passport and filing it,” said a spokesperson for Beady AI. “That shows the person exists. It doesn’t show whether they’re sanctioned, politically exposed or tied to a company with problems. We wanted compliance teams to get that answer in a few minutes, and to hear about it straight away if something changes later. Every finding comes with its source, so the team can show a regulator exactly why they made the call.”

Fintech and crypto companies use the service to screen new users at scale, while venture funds and investment firms check founders and key people across their portfolios. Law firms, HR departments and companies vetting suppliers and partners run the same checks. Beady handles the searching, filtering and monitoring; the decision to accept, decline or investigate stays with the compliance team.

Beady uses only publicly available data and never asks for or keeps ID documents. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access and a full audit log for every account. Pricing depends on how many entities a business wants to monitor, and entities can be swapped out at any time. Most new customers are up and running the same day, and there is a two-week free trial. Businesses can find out more about KYC automation from Beady AI on the company’s website.
