The event generated more than 115 million total views across all online platforms, representing a 15% increase compared to last year. Following the success of the Chinese Mainland edition, the Hong Kong Shopping Festival will be held, for the first time, on e-commerce platforms in Malaysia and Singapore from 21 to 27 September. The third Hong Kong Shopping Festival concluded successfully in August 2026, generating more than 115 million total views across all online platforms. As the flagship event of the HKTDC’s year-round E-commerce Express, the theme of the third Hong Kong Shopping Festival is “Hong Kong Highlights, One Click Away”. The Chinese Mainland version was held from 1 to 20 August and featured more than 280 brands and 600 products. Consumers enjoyed a wide range of exclusive discounts alongside live-stream sales events on Douyin, JD.com and Taobao. A series of marketing campaigns on Xiaohongshu and WeChat further enhanced Hong Kong companies’ digital marketing capabilities and brand visibility, helping them to capture opportunities in the Chinese Mainland market. The third Hong Kong Shopping Festival also offered comprehensive support measures, including one-on-one professional advisory services and Chinese Mainland e-commerce training programmes, helping enterprises progress from learning e-commerce to excelling in e-commerce. Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the HKSAR, said: “Participating brands of the Hong Kong Shopping Festival (Chinese Mainland) have reported positive sales performance. The Government will continue to support Hong Kong enterprises to develop e-commerce through flexible funding support, capacity building, training and promotion assistance, etc., with a view to assisting Hong Kong enterprises in strengthening their market competitiveness and seizing new opportunities brought by cross-border e-commerce. This year, the Hong Kong Shopping Festival is expanding into the ASEAN region for the first time, facilitating Hong Kong enterprises to tap into another enormous e-commerce market. I look forward to seeing the participating brands seize this opportunity to enhance their brand awareness and showcase the advantages of Hong Kong products in the region.” Jacky Chung, Associate Executive Director of HKTDC, said: “This year’s Hong Kong Shopping Festival (Chinese Mainland) built on the momentum of the previous two years and received an enthusiastic response from consumers in the Chinese Mainland. The strong reception once again demonstrates that Hong Kong brands and products are widely associated with trust and quality. The event also helps make high-quality Hong Kong products more visible, accessible and readily available through suitable sales channels. Jacky Chung, Associate Executive Director of HKTDC, said that this year's Hong Kong Shopping Festival received an enthusiastic response from consumers in the Chinese Mainland. The strong reception once again demonstrates that Hong Kong brands and products are widely associated with trust and quality. HKTDC has long been committed to creating diverse business platforms for Hong Kong companies. Building on its extensive promotional experience in the Mainland market, HKTDC is expanding into new markets this year. The Hong Kong Shopping Festival (ASEAN), to be held in September, will focus on Malaysia and Singapore. This expansion will lay a solid foundation for Hong Kong businesses seeking to enter and develop their presence in the ASEAN region.” Diversified E-commerce promotion helps Hong Kong businesses expand in Chinese Mainland market Discount Month and Live-stream e-commerce continued to be the core components of this year’s Hong Kong Shopping Festival (Chinese Mainland). In addition to dedicated campaign pages on Douyin, JD.com and Taobao, HKTDC launched an upgraded official Hong Kong Shopping Festival website. The website features profiles of participating brands, product offers, live-stream schedules and other event highlights, providing consumers with a one-stop platform to discover and purchase participating products. Throughout the event, the campaign’s visibility and the online presence of participating Hong Kong merchants were enhanced through platform promotions, advertising campaigns and a range of online and offline marketing activities. Live-streaming is a mainstream promotional model in the Chinese Mainland e-commerce market. This year, the event arranged more than 30 live-streaming sessions for around 90 brands, featuring dedicated sessions hosted by renowned KOLs such as Li Jiaqi and Lin Yilin, TVB Select (Hong Kong Premium Collection) and JD International Live-Streaming, among others. The live-streaming sessions attracted over 10 million views in total. A new “Behind-the-Brand” origin-tracing live-stream series brought live-streaming teams from the Chinese Mainland to Hong Kong, taking consumers on immersive tours of participating brands’ factories and retail stores, offering deeper insights into their production processes, brand stories and product features, and sharing their experiences with viewers during the live-streams. This helps consumers develop a fuller understanding of Hong Kong brands, enhance brand exposure, and strengthen consumer confidence. The Hong Kong Shopping Festival arranged over 30 live-streaming sessions for around 90 brands, featuring top influencers like Li Jiaqi, Lin Yilin, TVB Select (Hong Kong Premium Collection) and JD International Live-Streaming, alongside the new 'Behind-the-Brand' origin-tracing series. The campaign was a major success, drawing more than 10 million views. Wai Yuen Tong, a health supplement brand that participated in the "Behind-the-Brand" origin-tracing live-stream series, noted that the sessions significantly boosted consumer interest in both the brand and its products. During the event, sales on its Tmall flagship store increased by five times compared with the same period last year, demonstrating how the “Behind-the-Brand” live-stream series can bring brands closer to consumers through a more interactive and authentic format. Vivian Tang, Executive Director of Wai Yuen Tong, said: "The ‘Behind-the-Brand’ live-streams gave us a valuable opportunity to share our brand story, production processes, and ingredient selection standards directly with consumers. This allows consumers to understand our brand and products, helping to build greater trust. At the same time, the live-streams also serve as an effective way to generate interest and traffic for subsequent e-commerce broadcasts. This experience has further enhanced our understanding of how live-streaming and e-commerce channels can be leveraged to reach consumers in the Mainland market. Looking ahead, we will continue to develop origin-tracing content and combine it with e-commerce initiatives to further deepen our presence in the Mainland market." Social enterprise Hello Cocoa has entered the Mainland market for the first time this year. Since joining the Design Gallery Flagship Store on JD International in July, the company has also participated in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival (Chinese Mainland). Through live-streaming sessions featuring its products and brand philosophy, complemented by promotion via WeChat communities, Hello Cocoa strengthened engagement with Mainland consumers and achieved more than 200,000 brand impressions, with results surpassing expectations. Hello Cocoa employs staff with special educational needs (SEN) to produce and sell handcrafted chocolates. Its vegan crispy has been particularly well-received by consumers. Louie Lu, Founder & C.E.O. of Hello Cocoa, said: “Through our participation with the HKTDC's Design Gallery and the Hong Kong Shopping Festival, we have successfully reached Mainland consumers and gained valuable insights into live-stream e-commerce and cross-border sales models. Looking ahead, we will also participate in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival (ASEAN) to further expand our presence in the cross-border e-commerce market.” Promoting deep participation among Hong Kong businesses to effectively strengthen their e-commerce operations To help participating brands identify the most effective e-commerce strategies, this year’s Hong Kong Shopping Festival encouraged Hong Kong businesses to capitalise on the event’s promotional momentum. By fostering in-house live-streaming and “content seeding”, brands were able to gradually develop their own marketing expertise. Beyond offering publicity to participating brands, the event provided promotional copywriting and creative visuals for the companies to amplify the reach across their own e-commerce platforms and social media channels. As a third time participant in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival, well-known beverage brand Hung Fook Tong took full advantage of this year’s event through exclusive discounts, live-streams, and social media seeding. Two of its products, Imperatae Cane Drink and Salted Mandarin Drink, were selected by renowned influencer Li Jiaqi for a live-stream session, resulting in sales doubling compared to the same period last year. Audrey Poon, General Manager of Hung Fook Tong, said: “Our continued participation in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival has enabled more Mainland consumers to become familiar with our brand, while gradually building their trust and affinity towards it. As a result, our brand has established a stronger and more reliable image. The Hong Kong Shopping Festival has also provided significant support for our expansion into the Mainland market and strengthened our e-commerce capabilities, including marketing and promotional activities, cross-border logistics, and collaborations with key opinion leaders." Startup personal care brand Eco.Babe participated in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival’s live-streaming sessions for the first time this year. By showcasing its products through live-streaming sessions highlighting key features, usage instructions and application scenarios, the brand successfully drove sales growth, with sales of its insect repellent increasing by more than 50% year-on-year. Eco.babe joined the cross-border e-commerce platform of the HKTDC's Design Gallery on JD International last year and launched its official Xiaohongshu account to actively build experience in the Mainland market. Wesley Leung, Managing Director of Eco.babe, said, “By participating in the Hong Kong Shopping Festival (Chinese Mainland) and leveraging various promotional channels, including live-streaming and social media, we have been able to gather valuable consumer feedback and sales data. This has enabled us to gain a deeper understanding of Mainland consumers’ needs and purchasing habits, while providing practical experience that will support the optimisation of our product portfolio, market positioning, pricing strategy and e-commerce operations in the future.” The new designer toys category leverages social media to effectively engage a younger demographic To capture the youth market, this year’s Hong Kong Shopping Festival collaborated with renowned artists Moon Lau and Kalok Chow, alongside a network of social media influencers, for a series of promotions. The topics surrounding the Hong Kong Shopping Festival generated over 60 million views across Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat, and Weibo, marking a 20% year-on-year increase. The debut of a designer toys category also opened doors for local brands to connect with young consumers in the Chinese Mainland. Natural Made, which leveraged last year’s event to enter the Chinese Mainland market, returned this year to launch its original IP “Poru-Poru”. The campaign was a resounding success, with performance metrics far exceeding previous results. Notably, brand exposure and product save rates on its Taobao store both saw a 2.5-fold increase. Natural Made attributed this growth to the event’s targeted, category-based promotion and the HKTDC’s comprehensive support. Kenneth Lee, the company’s Marketing Lead, said: “The HKTDC’s Chinese Mainland E-commerce Training Programmes were highly pertinent, offering practical insights into the latest platform algorithms and AI tools. The programme empowered our team to sharpen our digital marketing skills and stay ahead of industry trends, serving as a vital resource for our sustained growth in the Mainland e-commerce sector.” The inaugural Hong Kong Shopping Festival (ASEAN) will launch in September The Hong Kong Shopping Festival will make its debut in Malaysia and Singapore this month. Through multi-channel promotional campaigns, the event will raise the profile of Hong Kong brands and products while providing participating companies with first-hand exposure to the operation of local e-commerce markets, enabling them to gain a deeper understanding of the regional e-commerce ecosystem and strengthening the foundation for future expansion across ASEAN. An official website will be launched for the ASEAN version, while cooperating with two leading e-commerce platforms in Singapore and Malaysia - namely Shopee and Lazada respectively - to open a special campaign page for the event, showcasing over 350 featured products together with exclusive promotional offers. To further support Hong Kong businesses that have yet to establish a presence on e-commerce platforms in Malaysia and Singapore, the event will introduce a limited-time online store, providing a convenient channel for merchants to list and promote their products. The initiative will enable companies to test market response, gain practical experience and seize new business opportunities in the ASEAN market. The HKSAR Government provides full support to the Hong Kong Shopping Festival. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, filmed a promotional video. The inaugural Hong Kong Shopping Festival (ASEAN) will make its debut this month, running from 21 to 27 September on e-commerce platforms in Malaysia and Singapore. - The 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition results announcedHONG KONG, Sep 8, 2026 - The 45th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the 14th Salon de TIME, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Limited, and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Limited, concluded their physical exhibitions on 5 September, attracting over 17,000 trade buyers from 115 countries and regions. Meanwhile, the results of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition, also jointly organised by HKTDC, The Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd., and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd., have been announced. The fair showcased all winning and shortlisted entries, and an award presentation ceremony was held on the event stage. Since its inception, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition has aimed to raise the design standards and quality of Hong Kong watches and clocks, encourage innovative and creative ideas, enrich the fair's content, and promote sales of Hong Kong-made timepieces in both local and overseas markets. This year's competition featured an Open Group and a Student Group, with the themes 'Transcending Time' and 'Contours of the Breeze' respectively. The theme 'Transcending Time' invited participants to translate sensory languages such as visual, auditory, and tactile experiences into design elements, creating an abstract, transcendent realm that breaks through the boundaries of time. Under the theme 'Contours of the Breeze', participants were encouraged to capture the movement and flow of wind through watch design, reflecting the limitless possibilities encountered in life's journey. The competition received an enthusiastic response, attracting 130 entries. The judging panel comprised eight representatives from the watch and clock industry, together with celebrity guest judge Joey Thye, who jointly selected the Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Merit Award winners in both categories. The 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition featured Open Group and Student Group category winners. Celebrity guest judge Joey Thye attended the award ceremony. Craftsmanship meets creativity to reimagine the concept of time The Champion of the Open Group, Tectonic Indeterminacy, was designed by Chan Pak Hei and Yang Tianxu and sponsored by Golden Hawk Manufactory Ltd. Inspired by the organic geometric form of pebbles, the design was shaped through a rigorous process of subtraction. Angled geometric facets were carved from a solid form, transforming the dial into a tangible representation of time, while a sculpted void seamlessly integrates the crown into the watch body. Through pure spatial and geometric manipulation, the timepiece transcends the conventional function of timekeeping, turning reading time into an experience rich in spatial depth and tactile tension. Tectonic Indeterminacy: Open Group winner of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The First Runner-up, Channel, was designed by Wong Ting Bong and sponsored by Youngs Watch Company Limited and Po Fai Precision Company Limited. The dial incorporates the scale and pointer of a VU meter, commonly used in audio equipment to indicate volume levels, transforming the abstract concepts of time and sound into visible physical traces. Channel: Open Group first runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The Second Runner-up was Pang Sze Nga who designed the Moment of Stillness depicting mountain ranges and outlined in gold wire, with enamel forming rivers and peaks, while a relief swallow weaves through the landscape as a messenger of time. Moment of Stillness: Open Group second runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition Watch Design by student group reflects on elements of success The Student Group was open to full-time students in Hong Kong to discover emerging talent in the local watch and clock industry through the competition. The Champion, Traces of Storm, was designed by Yip Yuen Sze, Christine of the Hong Kong Design Institute. The watch face features patterns resembling cyclones seen in satellite cloud images, while the hands are shaped like lightning bolts. The design symbolises the idea that true limitless possibilities begin with the courage to gather storm clouds, unleash lightning, and break new ground. Traces of Storm: Student Group winner and the Made-to-Sell Award of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The First Runner-up went to Tam Hei Yiu of Pope Paul VI College for Running through the breeze. The hour, minute, and second hands take the forms of a girl, a tree, and a windmill, respectively. As the hands move, the girl appears to run across a grassy field, conveying the message of continuously striving towards one's goals in life. Running through the breeze: Student Group first runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The Second Runner-up was Carpe Diem, designed by Lo Hoi Pui of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong. The design draws its inspiration and form from the feathery seeds of a dandelion, while the central hand is modelled on a weathervane. CaptCarpe Diem: Student Group second runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competitionion This year, the Made-to-Sell Award was once again presented to recognise a Student Group entry with strong commercial potential. Judged by a panel of eight watch manufacturers, the award went to Yip Yuen Sze, Christine, the Student Group Champion from the Hong Kong Design Institute, for her winning design, Traces of Storm. The Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd., and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. will bring the design into production, after which it will be launched to the market through the HKTDC's Design Gallery. Through the four stages of a woman’s life, the collection depicts the ebbs, flows and turbulence of human existence driven by emotion and destiny. Reflecting on the demanding creative process, Mr Tsui shared: "My immediate feeling upon winning is sheer exhaustion, as this collection required extensive handcrafting. I deliberately chose artisanal materials that are a stark departure from mainstream fabrics. I believe this award will bring more visibility, but more importantly, participating in YDC has helped me truly discover my future direction and the design aesthetic I am committed to pursuing." Excellence Award and Best Art Direction winner Cheang King Tung, Kenneth presented the collection “NOSTALGIA”. Drawing inspiration from the 1983 film Nostalghia, the work explores the concepts of homeland, distance and yearning, translating his memories of Hong Kong into the language of clothing. The collection draws inspiration from Hong Kong's humid air, harbours, fishing villages, typhoon shelters and industrial landscapes. Through hand-dyeing, sewing, and experimental material treatments, it showcases the traces left behind by the passage of time. Each piece is like a poem written to Hong Kong, documenting memories, emotions, and the connection between people and the city. Sharing his thoughts after the win, Mr Cheang said: "Participating in this year's YDC has been incredibly rewarding. I am very happy that my non-mainstream work has gained mainstream recognition on the YDC platform, which further affirms my future creative direction. I believe the winning edge of my work lies in presenting a relatively complete worldview, and my method of expression was also more dramatic." The My Favourite Collection Award was decided by public voting and the winner was Lam Chun Ni, Jenny for the collection "The Old Si-Fut and New Chai”. The work is set against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s workplace culture, exploring the dynamic between the veteran "old-timers" (si-futs) and the "rookies" (new chais). She translates common workplace dictums—such as "be humble", "talk less" and "endure hardship before you succeed"—into design elements. Through variations in garment structure, proportions, and details, she captures a state of mind caught between wanting to follow the rules and the urge to rebel, as well as the growth process from imitation and integration to a re-evaluation of young people. Sharing her thoughts after the win, Ms Lam said: "Joining YDC has given me many opportunities for growth and exposure, and I am very glad that my work can be seen by more people. Thank you all for supporting this theme. Perhaps the 'old-timer' workplace phenomenon resonates deeply with everyone, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for me. Winning this award is all thanks to the immense support my friends and family have continuously given me." Internationally renowned judging panel praises show for perfect fusion of Hong Kong culture and creativity This year’s YDC featured a distinguished judging panel comprising seasoned professionals from the fashion industry and media. The panel was chaired by Katherine Fang, Chairlady of the HKTDC Garment Advisory Committee, who served as Chief Judge. The VIP Judge role was taken up by Rok Hwang, founder and Creative Director of ROKH. Overseas Judge Olya Kuryshchuk, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of 1 Granary, was unable to attend the event in person buy she reviewed the shortlisted entries and provided her expert feedback ahead of the judging process. Other esteemed judges included Tracey Cheng, Vice President of Merchandising Planning and Business Development at I.T; Jonathan Lee, Co-founder of The Molecule; Cherry Mui, Editorial Director of Vogue Hong Kong; and Kieran Ho, Senior Vice President of Hong Kong at PURPLE. VIP Judge Rok Hwang expressed his appreciation for the young contestants and their energy. “YDC is an outstanding stage for young fashion designers. The show was energetic and inspiring, showcasing a brilliant mixture of Hong Kong culture and creative energy. The winning collection truly stood out in terms of emotion and color, paired with a dramatic entrance. Through an exclusive monochromatic lens, the collection utilizes unconventional silhouettes, tactile fabric manipulations, upcycled elements, and spontaneous layering to build a narrative of textured imperfection. It is a celebration of the impromptu touch, inviting the individual to co-create the final silhouette. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Oplus2Theme: My Wayward OneThe new collection explores the transformative power of form and structure through the lens of “flower structure”—how petals, stems, and branching forms create both stability and effortless movement. Inspired by the way flowers are engineered by nature, the collection interprets floral geometry as a foundation for personal expression, turning organic design language into wearable silhouettes. FASHIONALLY Presentation: SzmannieTheme: The DevotionInspired by 1920s Art Deco, this collection fuses bold geometric lines with delicate Oriental grace. We celebrate the independent woman through ethereal feather accents, intricate embroidery, and artisanal layering. Each piece balances vintage opulence with modern architectural silhouettes, embodying a spirit that is free, resilient, and unapologetic. In the heart of winter, these designs stand as a testament to the power of feminine autonomy, blending rich textures and precise craftsmanship to create an elegant, contemporary aesthetic that defies compromise. EXCELLENCE AWARD and BEST ART DIRECTION Designer: Cheang King Tung, Kenneth Design: NOSTALGIA The design: “Through this collection, I want to present the Hong Kong that I see” “NOSTALGIA” draws inspiration from the 1983 film Nostalghia. Through an exploration of "homeland," "distance," and "yearning," he translates his feelings for Hong Kong into a poem written through clothes. Rather than re-creating specific scenes from the movie, the collection extracts its emotions and rhythm, transforming them into a sensory language unique to his relationship with the city. Prizes (Excellence Award): Cash prize of HK$40,000, an overseas study trip sponsored by MINI HK. Prizes (BEST ART DIRECTION): Cash prize of HK$10,000, a 5-day course at VOGUE College of Fashion in London and an overseas study trip sponsored by VOGUE Hong Kong, with a total value of HK$ 30,000. MY FAVOURITE COLLECTION Designer: Lam Chun Ni, Jenny Design: The Old Si-Fut and New Chai The design: “I want to use design to respond to these words” “The Old Si-Fut and New Chai” is set against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s workplace, exploring the dynamic between the veteran "old-timers" (si-futs) and the "rookies" (new chais). She translates common workplace dictums—such as "be humble," "talk less," and "endure hardship before you succeed"—into design elements, capturing a state of mind caught between wanting to follow the rules and the urge to rebel. Prizes: HK$ 30,000 Lee Gardens Area e-Gift Certificate sponsored by Hysan For more photos from the grand finale, please visit: https://bit.ly/466pyDc Saito Chong (wearing YAMA GUEST) Dong Dong (left, wearing elio) and Cheuk Laam (right, wearing STUDIO REDEMPTIVE) Karl Ting (wearing Voyage) Inky Leong (wearing KOWLOON CITY BOY) William Chang Ah Mui (left, wearing BICY YIP, elio), Amy Echulace (centre, wearing JACL, elio), Jason Hong (right, wearing MARCCH, KOWLOON CITY BOY) MINI Guest Benny (left, wearing KOWLOON CITY BOY), his father (centre, wearing STUDIO REDEMPTIVE, KOWLOON CITY BOY, elio), Dylan So (right, MOODLABBYLORRAINE, KOWLOON CITY BOY) Ocean On (left, wearing BICY YIP) and Ray So (right, wearing STUDIO REDEMPTIVE, YAMA GUEST) MINI HK has been the lead sponsor of the YDC for ten consecutive years. It is an attitude rendered in cloth—where rigid tailoring meets the fluid decay of found textiles. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Oplus2 Theme: My Wayward One The new collection explores the transformative power of form and structure through the lens of “flower structure”—how petals, stems, and branching forms create both stability and effortless movement. Inspired by the way flowers are engineered by nature, the collection interprets floral geometry as a foundation for personal expression, turning organic design language into wearable silhouettes. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Szmannie Theme: The Devotion Inspired by 1920s Art Deco, this collection fuses bold geometric lines with delicate Oriental grace.
