  2. AIWellness Index Report: The Rise of 360-Degree WellnessNew York Monday Oct 5, 2026 @ 7:00 AM Eastern — The latest Wellness Index Report, published by Wellness Eternal, finds a clear turn toward whole-person care. For decades, health was split into separate rooms: one for the mind, one for hormones, one for the heart. A new generation of practitioners is knocking down those walls and looking at the whole person at once. September closed with World Heart Day on the 29th, a reminder that well-being has never lived in just one part of the body. The question, the report notes, is no longer which specialist to see. It is who is connecting the dots. Across psychology, functional medicine, and the science of circulation, the same shift is underway. Tired of being passed between specialists, consumers now seek integrated care that views thoughts, hormones, and blood flow as a unified system. This report spotlights three leaders: mind and emotional health, hormones and metabolism, and nitric oxide signaling for system support. The Signals: What's Trending in Wellness The mind moves to the center. Mental and emotional health is no longer an add-on to wellness; it is the starting point. People are looking for approaches that go beyond coping strategies to understand what their thoughts and emotions are actually telling them, and they want that work woven into the rest of their health, not kept in a separate file. Emotions are data, not noise. Women want to be heard. Women in midlife are pushing back on rushed appointments and "your labs are normal" answers. Demand is growing for root-cause, functional care that combines advanced testing, hormone support, nutrition, and lifestyle, delivered by practitioners who take the time to listen to the whole story. Listening is becoming a clinical skill. Circulation connects it all. Blood flow sustains each system, brain to skin, and nitric oxide is the key molecule driving this process. As awareness grows that the body produces less of it with age, consumers are turning to hormone-free ways to support their own production as a foundation for whole-body wellness. The connective tissue of wellness runs through the bloodstream. Featured Voices: Three Leaders Closing the Circle Madison Park Psychological Services (Psychology and Emotional Well-Being, New York City and Online). Known as "The Wise Psychologist," founder Dr. Yasmine Saad, PhD, is a TEDx speaker and internationally acclaimed psychologist whom USA Today called a "visionary" who is "redefining how we understand the human mind." She founded Madison Park Psychological Services, a multicultural, multilingual team of psychologists in New York City named to the Inc. 5000 list in 2024, and has shared stages with Deepak Chopra, Dr. Shefali, and Les Brown. Her signature Inner Message Approach bridges western psychology and eastern philosophy, treating thoughts and emotions as messages to be decoded rather than symptoms to be silenced, delivered through one-on-one and group coaching, events and retreats, a membership for holistic women leaders, and a provider training program. Her book, Decode Your Thoughts and Emotions, is due in 2026. As she puts it: "I decode what's keeping you stuck and architect what sets you free." SerenityNP Integrative Health (Functional Medicine and Women's Hormones, Crystal Lake, Illinois). Carolyn Johnson, NP, is a functional medicine nurse practitioner, author, and award-winning speaker devoted to helping women feel seen and heard, especially during midlife and hormonal transition. With nearly two decades of clinical experience, she bridges conventional medicine and root-cause care, focusing on hormones, metabolism, gut health, and whole-body resilience. At SerenityNP Integrative Health she builds personalized plans around bioidentical hormone therapy, nutrition, lifestyle, and stress support, shaped by advanced testing and in-depth assessment. Once a practitioner who felt unheard within the healthcare system herself, she has taken that message from the TEDx stage to Harvard and MIT, and into her new book, Unforgettable: Because Being Heard Changes Everything. Her message is simple: "Being heard changes everything." N1O1 (Nitric Oxide and Circulation, Richland Hills, Texas). Co-founder and President Susan K. Shaffer brings more than 30 years of corporate leadership to nitric oxide, with brand and growth experience at companies including Lancome, Dell, 3Com, and HumanN. She co-founded N1O1, by Pneuma Nitric Oxide, with Dr. Nathan S. Bryan, a nitric oxide researcher of more than 30 years and the inventor behind Superbeets and Neo40, after the two worked together on nitric oxide dietary supplementation. Nitric oxide is the signaling molecule that keeps blood vessels relaxed and open, carrying oxygen and nutrients to the heart, brain, muscles, and skin, and the body makes less of it with age. N1O1's hormone-free lozenges dissolve on the tongue in five to six minutes and are formulated to support the body's own nitric oxide production, alongside a perimenopause and menopause line, a nitric oxide activating serum for skin, and an oral-care range built around the bacteria that help convert dietary nitrate. "N1O1's advancements open the door to a vast array of applications that will improve the quality of life for millions of people for years to come," said Shaffer. The Future of Whole-Person Care "Real wellness is never one thing. It is the mind, the hormones, and the systems that connect them, all being heard at the same time," said Lindsay O'Neill-O'Keefe, Founder of Wellness Eternal and host of the Wellness Index Report Podcast. "When care finally sees the whole person, people stop feeling like a collection of symptoms and start feeling like themselves." Whether through decoding the messages inside our thoughts and emotions, root-cause care that gives women's hormones the attention they deserve, or hormone-free support for the nitric oxide that keeps every system supplied, Dr. Yasmine Saad, Carolyn Johnson, and Susan Shaffer from N101 are pointing at the same conclusion. Wellness is not a list of separate parts. It is a circle, and every part of it matters. Whole people deserve whole care. 3. SaaSMicot's XTL6001 Featured in Two EASD Presentations: MasR/GCGR/GLP-1R Triple-Agonist Mechanism Opens a Differentiated Path Across Metabolic and Renal DiseaseHong Kong, Oct 5, 2026 - At the 62nd Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), one of the world’s most influential scientific meetings in diabetes and metabolic disease, Micot Pharmaceuticals (02335.HK) presented research on XTL6001, its internally developed long-acting protein candidate and triple receptor agonist targeting GLP-1R, GCGR and MasR. The studies, covering high-quality weight management and chronic kidney disease (CKD)/diabetic kidney disease (DKD), were selected for oral presentation, bringing the Chinese-origin innovative programme onto a leading international scientific platform. From a development perspective, XTL6001 is not designed simply to maximise headline weight loss. By combining the GLP-1R, GCGR and MasR pathways, the programme aims to address weight management, glucose and lipid metabolism, body-composition optimisation and potential renal protection within a single development framework. As the GLP-1 field continues to evolve rapidly, this integrated metabolic–renal approach gives XTL6001 a differentiated profile versus conventional incretin-based therapies and provides a clearer positioning for subsequent global clinical development and potential business development opportunities. From Posters to Oral Presentations: Building International Scientific Visibility EASD and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions are among the most prominent international scientific platforms in diabetes and metabolic disease. Research on XTL6001 was first presented in two posters at ADA 2026 in June, followed by two oral presentations at EASD. The progression from posters to oral presentation provided a higher-profile forum for the same development thesis to be presented and discussed with the international scientific community. Conference selection, of course, does not substitute for clinical validation. For an early-stage innovative programme, however, repeated exposure at major international meetings can help increase visibility among clinicians, research institutions and potential industry partners. Notably, XTL6001 presented both weight-management and CKD/DKD research at the same EASD meeting. Obesity care is increasingly moving beyond “weight loss alone” toward broader management of body composition and cardiometabolic, hepatic and renal comorbidities. The ability to deliver benefits beyond weight reduction is therefore becoming an important dimension of next-generation competition. By adding MasR to the GLP-1R/GCGR combination, XTL6001 is designed to incorporate a renal-protection component into its differentiated product profile. Weight Loss, Muscle Preservation and Renal Protection: Differentiation Through a Triple-Target Mechanism According to company disclosures and publicly available scientific data, XTL6001 is a long-acting protein drug candidate and a triple receptor agonist targeting GLP-1R, GCGR and MasR. The programme has completed its Phase I study in China and has received clinical trial authorisation in both China and the United States. In the disclosed Phase I single ascending dose (SAD) study, 25 healthy participants received XTL6001 across a dose range of 37.5–300 mg, with additional participants receiving placebo. The study showed a favourable overall safety and tolerability profile. Dr. Xiangling Wang, Micot Pharma’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), presented a systematic study comparing XTL6001 The available data also indicate that XTL6001 is designed to deliver benefits beyond the headline weight loss shown on the scale. In preclinical diet-induced obesity (DIO) mouse studies, XTL6001 demonstrated greater weight reduction than semaglutide at equivalent doses and a slower rate of weight regain after treatment discontinuation. At the same dose, and despite overall food intake being comparable to or even higher than that observed with semaglutide, weight reduction was approximately 33% greater, suggesting that the effect may be driven more by increased energy expenditure and fat utilisation than by appetite suppression alone. The studies also showed selective fat loss, restoration of the proportion of muscle mass toward normal levels, a 1.61-fold greater reduction in abdominal fat versus semaglutide, and concurrent improvements in lipid and hepatic parameters, including a reduction in LDL-C of more than 80% (87.2%) and a 90.8% reduction in hepatic triglycerides, with near-complete reversal of hepatic steatosis and normalisation of ALT. These findings point to potential utility in MASH. Importantly, the comparisons with semaglutide were generated primarily in animal studies and should not be interpreted as evidence of superior efficacy in humans. In the renal programme, publicly disclosed studies used multiple animal models of kidney disease. The rationale for the triple-target mechanism can be summarised as follows: GLP-1R primarily supports improvements in metabolism and haemodynamics; GCGR may help protect renal tubules from lipotoxic injury; and MasR is intended to address glomerular structural protection and antifibrotic activity. Together, the three pathways are designed to intervene across metabolic drivers, haemodynamic abnormalities, structural injury and fibrosis in the CKD/DKD disease cascade, rather than acting as a simple combination of independent effects. XTL6001 dose-dependently reduced 24-hour urinary albumin excretion and the urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR), while improving the glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Across different models, XTL6001 showed dose-dependent reductions in albuminuria: in STZ-induced, uninephrectomised rats, 0.5 mg/kg reduced UACR by 62.9% versus vehicle control and reduced 24-hour urinary albumin by approximately 54.7%; in the alloxan model, the reduction in UACR was approximately three times that seen with finerenone monotherapy; and in a mouse CKD model, 12 mg/kg reduced urinary albumin by 80.2%, with reductions in albuminuria reaching approximately 88% across the three models. The studies also observed reductions in serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen and serum uric acid. These findings provide further support for the programme’s “weight management–metabolic regulation–albuminuria reduction” rationale. However, the renal benefits remain predominantly preclinical and will need to be validated in randomised controlled studies in patients with CKD/DKD. The Obesity Market Is Moving Into a Multi-Target Era — MasR Gives XTL6001 a Distinct Route The next generation of obesity therapies is already progressing from single-target GLP-1 agents toward GLP-1/GIP dual agonists, GLP-1/GCGR dual agonists and GLP-1/GIP/GCGR triple agonists. Eli Lilly’s retatrutide has advanced into Phase III development, while United Laboratories’ UBT251 is in Phase II, underscoring that “multi-target” activity alone is no longer sufficient to create a durable moat. XTL6001 is differentiated by the fact that its third target is MasR rather than GIPR. According to company disclosures, activation of the MasR pathway is associated with anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic effects, promotion of muscle-protein synthesis, improvement in mitochondrial function and induction of mitochondria-mediated thermogenesis. This gives XTL6001 a development rationale that is more naturally centred on renal protection, proteinuria and broader multi-organ metabolic benefits, rather than on cross-trial comparisons of headline weight-loss efficacy where no head-to-head evidence exists. From a capital-markets and business-development perspective, XTL6001’s successive appearances at ADA and EASD, together with its upcoming presentation of hyperuricaemic nephropathy research at ASN Kidney Week 2026, are helping the programme build continuous visibility across the diabetes, obesity and nephrology communities. Presenting at international scientific meetings is not a transaction in itself, nor can it replace human efficacy data, but it can create additional touchpoints with potential licensing, co-development and regional partners. Ultimately, the asset’s value will depend on whether clinical studies in humans can validate the hypotheses around quality of weight loss, body-composition improvement and renal protection; whether its safety and tolerability profile remains competitive; and whether indications such as CKD/DKD can demonstrate reproducible and clinically translatable benefits. If these elements are progressively validated, XTL6001 could establish a more distinctive global development path in the increasingly crowded GLP-1 landscape through a combined positioning around high-quality weight management, metabolic improvement and potential renal protection.

  9. FinanceCheche Group Looks to Australia as Home Batteries Take on a Bigger Grid RoleHONG KONG, Oct 5, 2026 - Australia’s rapidly expanding home battery market is becoming more than a story about hardware sales, as government subsidies accelerate adoption and virtual power plant programs draw household batteries into the wider electricity system. The shift provides the backdrop to Cheche Group Inc.’s (Nasdaq: CCG) proposed move into residential energy storage. Cheche said earlier this month that it had signed a non-binding term sheet for a strategic investment in Long Way Fortune, a residential solar-and-storage business operating in Australia and Singapore. The transaction remains subject to due diligence, definitive agreements and relevant approvals. The proposal would take Cheche beyond its core digital insurance and mobility businesses at a time when Australia is committing significant public funding to the residential energy storage sector. Since July 2025, the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program has provided an upfront discount of around 30% for a range of eligible battery systems, with support now tiered by system size and set to decline over time. The government later expanded estimated four-year funding to A$7.2 billion, a move expected to help more than 2 million Australians install a battery and add roughly 40 gigawatt-hours of storage capacity by 2030. As installations rise, attention is also shifting to how those batteries are used once they are in homes. In Western Australia, households receiving state battery rebates or no-interest loans are required to participate in a virtual power plant, or VPP, while New South Wales has taken a different approach by offering incentives for eligible battery owners to connect their systems to one. VPPs allow household batteries to be coordinated in response to electricity prices, periods of peak demand and broader grid conditions. For homeowners, a battery can still lower electricity bills or provide backup power, but once connected to a VPP it can also form part of a larger pool of distributed energy capacity. That is gradually broadening the economics of residential storage. Much of the industry has traditionally revolved around selling and installing equipment, but a growing base of connected batteries is creating opportunities around aggregation, electricity management and services linked to how those assets are operated over time. Hardware performance, pricing and installation will remain central to adoption. In markets where batteries are increasingly connected with electricity retailers, VPPs and grid programs, however, the commercial relationship can extend well beyond the initial equipment sale. Cheche has placed the proposed investment within its broader “Green Mobility + Green Energy” strategy. While Cheche’s existing digital insurance business and Long Way Fortune’s energy storage solutions currently operate independently, both teams are actively exploring cross-sector synergies within the EV and green energy supply chains. Detailing of operational integration is expected as negotiations progress. The near-term relevance of the proposal therefore lies less in any immediate overlap with Cheche’s existing business than in exposure to a part of the energy market undergoing rapid change. Australia is adding household batteries at scale while also developing ways for those assets to participate more actively in the electricity system. As more systems are connected, residential storage is beginning to move beyond a largely product-driven market. Energy storage equipment sales remain important, but aggregation and ongoing energy services could account for a larger share of the value created around those systems over time. Unlocking the full value of this transition will depend on finalizing the transaction and executing its operational integration. Australia’s battery subsidies are putting more storage into homes, while VPP programs are beginning to shape how those batteries interact with the electricity market once installed. For companies entering the sector, the opportunity is increasingly tied not only to rising demand for batteries, but also to the changing role those assets play after they are connected.
