- Riverty launches next Fintech 2040 paper exploring how AI, ethics and accountability can shape the future of creditThursday 15 October, 2026 London – As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in credit decision-making, the conversation is shifting beyond technological capability to the ethical and governance frameworks needed to build lasting trust. Today, Riverty publishes the latest report in its Fintech 2040 thought leadership series: “AI Ethics and Accountability in Hyper individualised Lending: Pathways to Optimised Consumer Credits.” Developed with contributions from AI governance experts Anita Klingel, Roland Frank, Jan Richard, and Florian Haubold, the paper examines how AI can improve access to credit and create more personalised financial services while keeping transparency, accountability, and fairness central to decision-making. The launch of the new report comes at a time when financial institutions across Europe are implementing new frameworks for AI governance and operational resilience, making responsible AI one of the defining topics for the future of financial services. Rather than viewing ethics and innovation as competing priorities, the paper argues that responsible AI requires governance models that translate ethical principles into practical, scalable decision-making. It identifies three key enablers for responsible AI-powered lending: Data sovereignty that gives consumers meaningful control over how their information is used.Interoperability that enables secure and transparent data sharing.Robust process design that embeds explainability, accountability and oversight throughout the credit lifecycle. Together, these elements provide a practical pathway towards credit markets where technological innovation, ethical responsibility and commercial sustainability reinforce one another. The next frontier: accountable agentic AI The paper also looks ahead to the emergence of agentic AI, where systems move beyond recommending or analysing to taking actions with greater autonomy. In credit, such agents could potentially compare and negotiate offers, access data or initiate actions on behalf of consumers or providers. This increases the importance of clear mandates, defined limits, human oversight and meaningful recourse. The paper argues for “bounded and contestable autonomy”: AI agents may be given greater freedom to act, but the institutions deploying them must retain clear accountability for their outcomes. “Artificial intelligence gives us new opportunities to improve credit decisions, broaden financial inclusion and better serve customers. But technology alone is never enough,” said Oliver Kuhaupt, Chief Risk Officer at Riverty. “As AI becomes more deeply embedded in financial services, ethical principles must be supported by robust governance, transparent decision-making and disciplined risk management. Trust is built when innovation is not only powerful, but also explainable, accountable and resilient.” The paper is the latest publication within Fintech 2040, Riverty’s long-term thought leadership platform bringing together academics, industry experts and policymakers to explore the technologies, governance models and policy frameworks shaping the future of financial services. - AINA Natural Water Coming Soon to OneLavi.comBoca Raton, Florida Thursday Oct 15, 2026 @ 6:00 AM Eastern — NWB Finland Oy is moving forward with its planned U.S. rollout of AINA Natural Water, announcing that the Finnish premium water brand is coming soon to OneLavi.com, an online marketplace offering health, wellness and lifestyle products. The upcoming OneLavi availability will provide U.S. consumers with an opportunity to discover AINA Natural Water, a premium drinking water sourced from Northern Finland and offered in an alternative to traditional single-use plastic bottles. "Bringing AINA to OneLavi is an important part of our plans to introduce the brand to American consumers," said Marita Weiman, Quality Assurance Manager at NWB Finland Oy. "We believe consumers will appreciate not only the natural characteristics of our water but also the convenience and sustainability considerations behind our packaging." Northern Finland's Natural Water, Packaged Differently AINA Natural Water originates in the Pudasjärvi region of Northern Finland, where groundwater is naturally filtered through layers of soil, sand and rock before undergoing mechanical filtration and packaging. With approximately 32 mg/L of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), AINA has a naturally low mineral profile that contributes to its soft, neutral taste and clean finish without an aftertaste. Unlike premium water brands that rely primarily on individual plastic bottles, AINA is packaged in 5-liter and 10-liter bag-in-box formats. These larger formats are designed to provide convenient access to drinking water while using substantially less plastic than comparable volumes packaged in individual plastic bottles. The packaging makes AINA suitable for a variety of everyday settings, including homes, offices, hospitality environments and gatherings. Bringing a Different Premium Water Experience to the U.S. NWB Finland Oy's U.S. introduction reflects the company's broader vision of making Northern Finland's natural groundwater available internationally while emphasizing practical, sustainability-focused packaging. The company also recently participated in the 2026 ECRM Vitamin, Weight Management & Sports Nutrition Session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, introducing AINA Natural Water and its packaging approach to U.S. retail buyers. "Our goal is to make AINA part of everyday life, not simply a water reserved for special occasions," Weiman said. "OneLavi will help us introduce that idea to consumers who are looking for quality, convenience and alternatives to traditional bottled-water packaging." The AINA Difference Northern Finland Source - Originates in the Pudasjärvi region of Northern Finland, an area known for its forests, natural landscapes, and groundwater resources. Naturally Filtered - Groundwater is naturally filtered through layers of soil, sand, and rock before being mechanically filtered and packaged. Measured Purity - Contains approximately 32 mg/L of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), contributing to a soft, clean taste profile. Clean Taste Profile - Naturally low mineral content helps provide a balanced drinking experience with no aftertaste. Naturally Low in Sodium - Contains only small amounts of sodium and dissolved minerals. Sustainability-Focused Packaging - Bag-in-box packaging uses substantially less plastic than traditional bottled-water formats. Additional details about AINA Natural Water's availability on OneLavi.com will be announced as the U.S. rollout progresses. About NWB Finland Oy NWB Finland Oy is a Finland-based company focused on sustainable beverage packaging and natural water solutions. Headquartered in Pudasjärvi, Finland, the company was founded with a mission to develop environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional beverage packaging while delivering premium-quality products to consumers around the world. - Mutares Portfolio Company Nord Gas Solutions Benefits From a Booming Market; 2026 Revenue Expected to Exceed EUR 575m, With Record Order Backlog of EUR 880m; Strategic Exit Options Under ReviewStrong order backlog: New orders for liquefied gas carriers, ammonia fuel supply systems, floating LNG infrastructure, biogas liquefaction and emissions recovery reflect strong demand for NGS technologies and drive total order backlog to a record high of EUR 880 million. Surging demand driven by converging industry trends, including rising global energy demand, a global focus on securing reliable energy supply and the continued focus on long-term decarbonization, energy transition and efficiency. Clear visibility on 2026 and 2027 performance: Management of NGS expects revenues of over EUR 575 million and adjusted EBITDA of approximately EUR 50 million for the full year 2026 and is confident of achieving double-digit annual revenue growth and a double-digit adjusted EBITDA margin in the full year 2027. Standalone operations and profitability: Developing strategic initiatives across the NGS’s three business areas, together with harnessing the significant growth potential in the aftermarket business serving each business area, and implementing improvements in operational efficiency, have been key priorities since the acquisition by Mutares. Strategic exit alternatives under evaluation: Mutares is evaluating potential strategic exit alternatives for NGS together with its financial advisors, including a potential public listing in the Nordics. MUNICH, GERMANY - October 14, 2026 - Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN: DE000A2NB650) (“Mutares”) announces that its portfolio company Nord Gas Solutions (“NGS”), a leading independent specialist in gas handling, fuel supply, regasification and liquefaction systems, has experienced surging demand for its gas solutions, including through new project awards, since its acquisition by Mutares. NGS was formed from the Wärtsilä Gas Solutions business and is headquartered in Asker, Norway, with around 500 employees and nine locations worldwide. NGS is a global technology leader in gas solutions, providing gas and energy technologies to international shipyards, gas producers, energy infrastructure developers and industrial customers. Its main operational centers are located in Norway, Sweden and Poland. Peter Wagner, CEO of NGS, comments: “Since becoming an independent company, we have materially grown our order backlog, which now stands at EUR 880 million. Our customers are investing in new gas infrastructure, and we are well positioned to deliver on our targets for 2026 and 2027.” The growth of NGS is underpinned by three converging megatrends. Global energy demand is rising rapidly, driven in part by the expansion of AI and data-center capacity, and is driving a new investment cycle in LNG and gas infrastructure, shipping and regasification. At the same time, heightened geopolitical tension has sharpened the focus on securing reliable and diversified energy supply, increasing demand for energy security and fast-to-deploy solutions such as floating infrastructure. Finally, the continued focus on long-term decarbonization, energy transition and efficiency is creating demand for lower-emission gas solutions. Together, these trends are driving demand for NGS technologies across the gas value chain. NGS: Strong progress in operational development In the first nine months of 2026, NGS generated revenues of approximately EUR 459 million (PY: EUR 283 million) and adjusted EBITDA[1] of EUR 43 million (PY: EUR 20 million). As of 30 September 2026, NGS holds total assets of EUR 493 million, including a very strong cash position of EUR 194 million, a reported net cash position[2] of EUR 84 million and has no financial indebtedness. Total annual revenues of NGS for the 2026 financial year are expected to exceed EUR 575 million, generating an adjusted EBITDA of approximately EUR 50 million. Since the acquisition, Mutares has worked with the management of NGS to initiate and successfully implement targeted measures to strengthen NGS’s operational performance and strategic positioning. These measures reinforce its strong market position across the gas solutions value chain and support the expansion of aftermarket and service revenues. Improved sales and project execution support commercial effectiveness and operational efficiency, driving margin development. NGS: Strong order backlog NGS’s position is reflected in its fixed order backlog, which stood at EUR 880 million as of 30 September 2026, alongside an additional pipeline of potential projects amounting to EUR 1.8 billion. NGS’s core marine business area remains a substantial part of the order book, while midstream infrastructure is growing rapidly. In marine, NGS was awarded a contract in August 2026 to supply cargo-handling and LPG fuel-supply systems for eight new liquefied gas carriers for BW LPG, each with a capacity of 90,000 m³. The vessels will be built at HD Hyundai, further strengthening the longstanding cooperation with the shipbuilding group and BW LPG. A further order, signed in June 2026, covers corresponding systems for two liquefied gas carriers for Byzantine Maritime, each with a capacity of 40,000 m³, with delivery scheduled for April 2027. For the full year 2027, the management of NGS is confident of achieving a year-on-year double-digit revenue increase alongside a double-digit adjusted EBITDA margin, given that approximately 92% of planned 2027 revenue is already covered by NGS’s fixed order backlog as of 30 September 2026. The business of NGS is also on track to achieve its mid-term targets of over EUR 800 million in annual revenue and an adjusted EBITDA of over EUR 100 million. NGS: Growth opportunities from midstream infrastructure and services business areas Midstream infrastructure is a key growth engine for NGS, led by floating storage and regasification unit (“FSRU”) projects, where project scope is increasing and customers are moving towards full conversion scope. NGS is supplying the regasification module for Excelerate Energy’s conversion of the LNG carrier “Methane Patricia Camila” into an FSRU, with delivery planned for the first half of 2028, and has received an additional order from Exmar for a regasification system for a conversion project related to the expansion of the EemsEnergyTerminal in the Netherlands. These projects reflect NGS’s established position in international LNG import infrastructure, and the use cases for its midstream technology are broadening. For the Texas GulfLink project in the United States, NGS is supplying volatile organic compound (VOC) recovery systems for two specially designed offshore support vessels, which capture emissions during crude oil loading and allow the recovered substances to be reused. In ammonia cracking, NGS and Höegh Evi have completed the first phase of performance testing of a pilot plant that converts ammonia into hydrogen, achieving a hydrogen purity of more than 99.5%. Alongside this, NGS is placing a strong focus on its high-margin services and aftermarket business, where management sees substantial potential. With an installed base of more than 1,600 systems worldwide, NGS is well placed to grow recurring revenues from field services, maintenance, spare parts, retrofits and digital services. Strategic alternatives Mutares is evaluating potential strategic exit alternatives for NGS, including a potential public listing in the Nordics in the coming months. No final decision has been made, and there can be no assurance that or at what point in time any transaction will occur. Mutares has strong confidence in NGS's prospects and, in the event of a potential public listing, expects to remain a significant shareholder, subject to customary lock-up arrangements. - Jean-Marc Bellaiche to Become New CEO of the DOUGLAS Group - Sander van der Laan to RetireDUSSELDORF, GERMANY - October 14, 2026 - Jean-Marc Bellaiche will become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Europe’s leading premium beauty retailer, the DOUGLAS Group. He succeeds Sander van der Laan, who, after a career of 36 years in the international retail business including four years with the DOUGLAS Group, has decided to retire as an executive. The Supervisory Board of Douglas AG today appointed Jean-Marc Bellaiche as CEO with effect from 1 November 2026 for a term of four years. “This important change in the leadership at the top of the company has been prepared very thoughtfully and carefully, ensuring a smooth and professional transition”, said Dr. Henning Kreke, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Douglas AG. “We truly regret Sander van der Laan’s decision to retire, while fully respecting his choice after a long and successful career. With his departure, the DOUGLAS Group loses an outstanding leader and highly experienced retail executive who has played a pivotal role in the successful development of the Group. At the same time, we are very pleased to have appointed Jean-Marc Bellaiche, a highly experienced executive in international retail and luxury, with a strong track record across beauty, premium department stores, digital transformation, brand building and strategy. We are convinced that he will build on the progress already made and put even more focus on customer-centricity, beauty brand partnerships and operational excellence.” “I would like to thank the Supervisory Board of the Douglas AG for the confidence it has placed in me”, said Bellaiche. “I am particularly excited to join the Group at such an important moment in the evolution of the beauty industry. I look forward to building on these strengths together with the management team and all my colleagues across 22 European countries, while driving the innovations and changes needed to succeed in a rapidly changing market environment.” Van der Laan said: “I am incredibly grateful for my time at the DOUGLAS Group. I have met many inspiring people, learned a great deal about premium beauty, and, together with around 20,000 colleagues, we have made significant progress. The decision to step down was not an easy one for me. But after a 36-year career, including senior leadership roles at highly respected retail companies in Europe and the United States, I feel that the time is right to retire from executive management. This is the right moment to hand over the reins to someone who can bring fresh thinking and new ideas.” The 56 year old Frenchman Bellaiche began his career at Boston Consulting Group in 1993, where he eventually became Managing Director and Global Leader of the Luxury, Fashion and Beauty sector. He subsequently held senior leadership and board positions in the technology companies Contentsquare and Arianee. After spending a decade in the United States, he moved back to Europe in 2020 to become CEO of Printemps Group, which includes the iconic French department store chain. During his five-year mandate, he strengthened Printemps’s distinctiveness and customer-centricity, introduced more exclusivities in the assortment, accelerated its international and omnichannel development, and improved the operating profitability. For the last year, he served as CEO of the luxury resort operator Sani/Ikos Group. Sander van der Laan joined the DOUGLAS Group in October 2022. Since then, he has successfully driven the transformation of the Dusseldorf-based company into a true omnichannel business and implemented significant strategic, operational, and structural improvements. Among his key achievements are a new category and exclusive-brands strategy and a comprehensive update of the store-format and -network strategy. He also comprehensively reorganized the Group‘s supply chain, further developed the digital platforms, implemented a comprehensive ESG strategy, and harmonized internal processes and structures. In 2024, the company was listed on the stock exchange. Van der Laan has also been deeply committed to further developing the corporate culture and introduced the purpose ‘Make life more beautiful’. Dr. Kreke said: “On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Sander van der Laan for his outstanding achievements and dedication to the company. We wish him all the best for this new chapter in his life. We also wish Jean-Marc Bellaiche a successful start in his new role at the DOUGLAS Group and look forward to working with him as he leads the company together with CFO Marco Giorgetta, the entire management team and all employees into its next phase of development.” About the DOUGLAS Group The DOUGLAS Group, with its commercial brands DOUGLAS, NOCIBE, Parfumdreams and Niche Beauty, is the number one omnichannel premium beauty destination in Europe.
