  1. FinanceIndonesia Pushes for Greater Transparency in Cross-Border Copyright RoyaltiesBALI, INDONESIA, Oct 7, 2026 - The development of the digital economy has changed the way creative works are used and generate revenue. However, royalty management systems have not yet fully kept pace with the increasingly cross-border use of creative works. "Through the Global Dialogue on Cross-Border Copyright Royalty Governance in the Digital Era, we seek to encourage the establishment of common rules and systems so that copyright royalties, which are increasingly flowing across national borders, can be recorded, calculated, and distributed in a more transparent, accountable, and fair manner," said Indonesian Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas after opening the Global Dialogue on Cross-Border Copyright Royalty Governance in the Digital Era at The Patra Hotel Bali on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Minister of Law of Republic of Indonesia, Supratman Andi Agtas The dialogue, initiated by the Government of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), is being held from October 7 to 9, 2026. More than 28 countries are actively involved in the forum, which brings together member states of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), two intergovernmental organizations, five collective management organizations, industry experts, creators, and other stakeholders. "When creative works can be enjoyed in different countries through digital platforms, royalty governance must also be able to keep pace with these developments. Transparency, accountability, and interconnected systems are needed to ensure that the economic rights of creators are protected," he said. According to Supratman, cross-border royalty issues are not solely related to copyright rules, but also to coordination among institutions and the connectivity of information systems. Indonesia is therefore encouraging international dialogue to bring together the experiences and practices of different countries without disregarding their respective national legal frameworks. "This forum provides a space to build a common understanding and explore practical cooperation. The goal is to ensure that creators and rights holders receive economic benefits more fairly from the use of their works in the digital environment," he explained. Director General of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Law Hermansyah Siregar said that cross-border royalty issues are more closely related to informationexchange than to copyright law. Incomplete ownership data and metadata, as well as differences between systems, can make it difficult to match the use of works with their rights holders. Director General of Intellectual Property at the Ministry of Law Hermansyah Siregar "Friction in cross-border royalties is rarely a dispute over copyright law. The main challenge is the exchange of information," Hermansyah said. According to Hermansyah, these issues can arise from the registration of works and reporting of usage to the metadata-matching process that connects usage reportswith rights holders. When identifiers for works are unavailable, the calculation, distribution, and reconciliation of royalties become increasingly complex. Data from the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) show that royalty collections by creators' rights management organizations worldwide reached EUR13.97 billion, or approximately Rp278 trillion, in 2024. Of this amount, EUR5.14 billion, or approximately Rp103.16 trillion, representing around 37 percent, came from digital use. However, these collections remain concentrated in Europe and North America. The dialogue discusses three main issues: transparency, accountability, and system interoperability. Transparency relates to the information received by rights holders, accountability concerns responsibility at every stage of royalty management, while interoperability relates to the ability of different systems to exchange information reliably. At the international level, WIPO has also been promoting good governance in collective management through publications and technical assistance, including good-practice guidance for collective management organizations and the TAG of Excellence initiative on transparency, accountability, and governance. These efforts are expected to be developed together with stakeholders by applying professional rules and governance standards for member organizations. In Indonesia, the copyright framework is governed by Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright. The law also provides a national framework for collective management. In addition, Government Regulation No. 56 of 2021 on the Management of Copyright Royalties for Songs and/or Music regulates the framework for the collection and distribution of royalties. The regulation provides for a song and music database managed by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, as well as the Sistem Informasi Lagu dan/atau Musik (SILM), to support the registration of works, usage data, and royalty distribution. According to Hermansyah, system connectivity is key to ensuring that royalties can flow from the use of works to rights holders. Indonesia is also developing the Pusat Data Lagu dan Musik (PDLM) and information systems to establish connectivity with global royalty systems. "Interoperability only requires systems that can communicate reliably. At present, many emerging markets lack the IT infrastructure needed to process large volumes of digital data," he said. Indonesia has previously presented an initiative on royalty governance, known as the Indonesian Proposal, at WIPO's Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR). Discussions on the proposal will continue at the SCCR, while the Global Dialogue in Bali serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and identifying practical solutions that can be developed on a voluntary basis. "Technology has democratized the distribution of musical works. Our task now is to ensure that our governance structures democratize remuneration for those works," Hermansyah concluded. --Antara

  11. AISalesNexus Rolls Out Outlook Fixes, Email Sync and Deliverability UpgradesHouston, TX Tuesday Oct 6, 2026 @ 11:55 PM Central — A new post on SalesNexus, Marketing Automation and Inbox Delivery, published October 6, 2026, outlines the company's latest product update covering marketing automation, email deliverability, and CRM workflow enhancements. The release is positioned as a comprehensive round-up of improvements, new features, and important fixes rolled out across the SalesNexus platform. For sales and marketing teams relying on reliable inbox placement and consistent conversation tracking, the update arrives at a time when email engagement and sender reputation are more scrutinized than ever by major mailbox providers. The post previews several topic threads that users will want to explore in detail, including advances in email and conversation management across the platform. Highlights called out in the article include: Better Outlook compatibility for users syncing mail between SalesNexus and Microsoft environments Improved email syncing and attachment handling for cleaner record keeping Enhanced email tracking to give reps clearer visibility into recipient activity Refined conversation management so threaded exchanges stay organized inside the CRM The company frames the release in plain, user-focused language, describing it as "a round-up of the latest improvements, new features, and important fixes across SalesNexus to make your marketing automation, inbox delivery, CRM workflows, and day-to-day experience even better." That framing underscores the dual priority behind the update: shoring up the behind-the-scenes mechanics of inbox delivery while also smoothing the everyday clicks and screens that reps and marketers interact with throughout the sales day. The language signals steady, iterative improvement rather than a single flagship feature launch. Inbox delivery continues to be a central concern for any team running marketing automation at scale, especially as providers like Microsoft Outlook and Google tighten authentication, bulk-sender, and engagement standards. By tightening Outlook compatibility and strengthening tracking and attachment handling, SalesNexus is directly addressing the pain points reported by B2B teams whose prospecting and nurture campaigns depend on consistent arrival in the primary inbox. Combined with improvements to conversation management, the update aims to reduce the friction between automated outbound campaigns and the one-to-one reply handling that typically follows, keeping context intact across the full lifecycle of a lead. About SalesNexus SalesNexus is an all-in-one CRM and marketing automation platform built for small and mid-sized sales and marketing teams. The blog shares product updates, best practices, and tactical guidance on email deliverability, lead nurturing, and CRM workflows, written for operators who need practical answers rather than theory. 12. AILeadership and Legacy: Kristin Stevens on the Future of Round RockRound Rock, TX Tuesday Oct 6, 2026 @ 11:00 PM Central — Episode 93 of Rock Solid: Round Rock Business Leaders Podcast, titled "Kristin Stevens | Building Round Rock's Future Through Service," hosted by Bryan Eisenberg, released September 30, 2026, features a candid conversation with Round Rock Mayor Pro Tem Kristin Stevens. The daughter of longtime civic leader Charlie Culpepper, Stevens reflects on inheriting a stewardship mindset and now helping steer one of the fastest growing cities in the country. This episode is unique as it features the daughter of a former guest, marking a familial continuity in civic leadership. The episode traces Round Rock's arc from a farming community of fewer than 5,000 residents in the 1970s to a city approaching 150,000. Stevens and Eisenberg explore several key themes: Balancing ambitious goals with responsible growth in Williamson County, the fastest-growing county in the nation. Leaving a 22-year speech pathology career to serve on City Council Combating misinformation on issues from data centers to public comment ordinances The role of Blue Santa, Meals on Wheels, Sertoma, Rotary, Frontier Days, and the Sandbass Shootout in shaping her family's service ethic Stevens describes Round Rock's identity in plain terms, telling Eisenberg: We have a very accepting and welcoming and warm culture here. We expect the best, right? But we accept and we bring in and we welcome everybody and all ideas and all businesses and the stories of the people that come here. Stevens addresses the challenges of public service in the social media age, emphasizing the need for 'thick skin' and direct engagement with constituents. The conversation surfaces a full-circle Round Rock moment: Stevens was the first person ever to get engaged at Dell Diamond, during the inaugural Friday night fireworks game after voters passed the hotel-motel tax that funded the stadium. Her husband, who studied architecture and now works in construction, coordinated a heart-shaped fireworks display on Good Friday nearly 26 years ago. Today, her father takes her older two sons to dollar hot dog nights with Papa, and her youngest son works as a parking lot attendant for the Round Rock Express. Stevens also credits Charlie Culpepper's lesson to remain accessible, mentors through Leadership Round Rock, Ascend, and YMCA leadership classes, and urges newcomers to volunteer strategically rather than dilute their impact. About Rock Solid: Round Rock Business Leaders Podcast Hosted by New York Times bestselling author and keynote speaker Bryan Eisenberg, Rock Solid explores the journeys of entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and civic leaders shaping Round Rock, Texas. From startups to established institutions, each episode spotlights the people and ideas fueling one of America's fastest growing communities. Episode 93 is available now wherever podcasts are heard.
