Meanwhile, the results of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition, also jointly organised by HKTDC, The Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd., and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd., have been announced. The fair showcased all winning and shortlisted entries, and an award presentation ceremony was held on the event stage. Since its inception, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition has aimed to raise the design standards and quality of Hong Kong watches and clocks, encourage innovative and creative ideas, enrich the fair's content, and promote sales of Hong Kong-made timepieces in both local and overseas markets. This year's competition featured an Open Group and a Student Group, with the themes 'Transcending Time' and 'Contours of the Breeze' respectively. The theme 'Transcending Time' invited participants to translate sensory languages such as visual, auditory, and tactile experiences into design elements, creating an abstract, transcendent realm that breaks through the boundaries of time. Under the theme 'Contours of the Breeze', participants were encouraged to capture the movement and flow of wind through watch design, reflecting the limitless possibilities encountered in life's journey. The competition received an enthusiastic response, attracting 130 entries. The judging panel comprised eight representatives from the watch and clock industry, together with celebrity guest judge Joey Thye, who jointly selected the Champion, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Merit Award winners in both categories. Craftsmanship meets creativity to reimagine the concept of time The Champion of the Open Group, Tectonic Indeterminacy, was designed by Chan Pak Hei and Yang Tianxu and sponsored by Golden Hawk Manufactory Ltd. Inspired by the organic geometric form of pebbles, the design was shaped through a rigorous process of subtraction. Angled geometric facets were carved from a solid form, transforming the dial into a tangible representation of time, while a sculpted void seamlessly integrates the crown into the watch body. Through pure spatial and geometric manipulation, the timepiece transcends the conventional function of timekeeping, turning reading time into an experience rich in spatial depth and tactile tension. Tectonic Indeterminacy: Open Group winner of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The First Runner-up, Channel, was designed by Wong Ting Bong and sponsored by Youngs Watch Company Limited and Po Fai Precision Company Limited. The dial incorporates the scale and pointer of a VU meter, commonly used in audio equipment to indicate volume levels, transforming the abstract concepts of time and sound into visible physical traces. Channel: Open Group first runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The Second Runner-up was Pang Sze Nga who designed the Moment of Stillness depicting mountain ranges and outlined in gold wire, with enamel forming rivers and peaks, while a relief swallow weaves through the landscape as a messenger of time. Moment of Stillness: Open Group second runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition Watch Design by student group reflects on elements of success The Student Group was open to full-time students in Hong Kong to discover emerging talent in the local watch and clock industry through the competition. The Champion, Traces of Storm, was designed by Yip Yuen Sze, Christine of the Hong Kong Design Institute. The watch face features patterns resembling cyclones seen in satellite cloud images, while the hands are shaped like lightning bolts. The design symbolises the idea that true limitless possibilities begin with the courage to gather storm clouds, unleash lightning, and break new ground. Traces of Storm: Student Group winner and the Made-to-Sell Award of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The First Runner-up went to Tam Hei Yiu of Pope Paul VI College for Running through the breeze. The hour, minute, and second hands take the forms of a girl, a tree, and a windmill, respectively. As the hands move, the girl appears to run across a grassy field, conveying the message of continuously striving towards one's goals in life. Running through the breeze: Student Group first runner-up of the 43rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition The Second Runner-up was Carpe Diem, designed by Lo Hoi Pui of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong. Prizes: Cash prize of HK$60,000, an overseas study trip sponsored by Fang Brothers Knitting Ltd. Through the four stages of a woman’s life, the collection depicts the ebbs, flows and turbulence of human existence driven by emotion and destiny. Reflecting on the demanding creative process, Mr Tsui shared: "My immediate feeling upon winning is sheer exhaustion, as this collection required extensive handcrafting. I deliberately chose artisanal materials that are a stark departure from mainstream fabrics. I believe this award will bring more visibility, but more importantly, participating in YDC has helped me truly discover my future direction and the design aesthetic I am committed to pursuing." Excellence Award and Best Art Direction winner Cheang King Tung, Kenneth presented the collection “NOSTALGIA”. Drawing inspiration from the 1983 film Nostalghia, the work explores the concepts of homeland, distance and yearning, translating his memories of Hong Kong into the language of clothing. The collection draws inspiration from Hong Kong's humid air, harbours, fishing villages, typhoon shelters and industrial landscapes. Through hand-dyeing, sewing, and experimental material treatments, it showcases the traces left behind by the passage of time. Each piece is like a poem written to Hong Kong, documenting memories, emotions, and the connection between people and the city. Sharing his thoughts after the win, Mr Cheang said: "Participating in this year's YDC has been incredibly rewarding. I am very happy that my non-mainstream work has gained mainstream recognition on the YDC platform, which further affirms my future creative direction. I believe the winning edge of my work lies in presenting a relatively complete worldview, and my method of expression was also more dramatic." The My Favourite Collection Award was decided by public voting and the winner was Lam Chun Ni, Jenny for the collection "The Old Si-Fut and New Chai”. The work is set against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s workplace culture, exploring the dynamic between the veteran "old-timers" (si-futs) and the "rookies" (new chais). She translates common workplace dictums—such as "be humble", "talk less" and "endure hardship before you succeed"—into design elements. Through variations in garment structure, proportions, and details, she captures a state of mind caught between wanting to follow the rules and the urge to rebel, as well as the growth process from imitation and integration to a re-evaluation of young people. Sharing her thoughts after the win, Ms Lam said: "Joining YDC has given me many opportunities for growth and exposure, and I am very glad that my work can be seen by more people. Thank you all for supporting this theme. Perhaps the 'old-timer' workplace phenomenon resonates deeply with everyone, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who voted for me. Winning this award is all thanks to the immense support my friends and family have continuously given me." Internationally renowned judging panel praises show for perfect fusion of Hong Kong culture and creativity This year’s YDC featured a distinguished judging panel comprising seasoned professionals from the fashion industry and media. The panel was chaired by Katherine Fang, Chairlady of the HKTDC Garment Advisory Committee, who served as Chief Judge. The VIP Judge role was taken up by Rok Hwang, founder and Creative Director of ROKH. Overseas Judge Olya Kuryshchuk, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of 1 Granary, was unable to attend the event in person buy she reviewed the shortlisted entries and provided her expert feedback ahead of the judging process. Other esteemed judges included Tracey Cheng, Vice President of Merchandising Planning and Business Development at I.T; Jonathan Lee, Co-founder of The Molecule; Cherry Mui, Editorial Director of Vogue Hong Kong; and Kieran Ho, Senior Vice President of Hong Kong at PURPLE. VIP Judge Rok Hwang expressed his appreciation for the young contestants and their energy. “YDC is an outstanding stage for young fashion designers. The show was energetic and inspiring, showcasing a brilliant mixture of Hong Kong culture and creative energy. The winning collection truly stood out in terms of emotion and color, paired with a dramatic entrance. Once again I want to congratulate all the winners and send my best wishes to them.” Mentoring the YDC contestants this year were Alex Po and Derek Cheng, founders of PONDER.ER. Drawing on their extensive industry experience, the duo provided valuable guidance to the 10 finalists throughout the competition. It is an attitude rendered in cloth—where rigid tailoring meets the fluid decay of found textiles. Through an exclusive monochromatic lens, the collection utilizes unconventional silhouettes, tactile fabric manipulations, upcycled elements, and spontaneous layering to build a narrative of textured imperfection. It is a celebration of the impromptu touch, inviting the individual to co-create the final silhouette. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Oplus2Theme: My Wayward OneThe new collection explores the transformative power of form and structure through the lens of “flower structure”—how petals, stems, and branching forms create both stability and effortless movement. Inspired by the way flowers are engineered by nature, the collection interprets floral geometry as a foundation for personal expression, turning organic design language into wearable silhouettes. FASHIONALLY Presentation: SzmannieTheme: The DevotionInspired by 1920s Art Deco, this collection fuses bold geometric lines with delicate Oriental grace. We celebrate the independent woman through ethereal feather accents, intricate embroidery, and artisanal layering. Each piece balances vintage opulence with modern architectural silhouettes, embodying a spirit that is free, resilient, and unapologetic. In the heart of winter, these designs stand as a testament to the power of feminine autonomy, blending rich textures and precise craftsmanship to create an elegant, contemporary aesthetic that defies compromise. Winning this award is all thanks to the immense support my friends and family have continuously given me." It is an attitude rendered in cloth—where rigid tailoring meets the fluid decay of found textiles. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Oplus2 Theme: My Wayward One The new collection explores the transformative power of form and structure through the lens of “flower structure”—how petals, stems, and branching forms create both stability and effortless movement. Inspired by the way flowers are engineered by nature, the collection interprets floral geometry as a foundation for personal expression, turning organic design language into wearable silhouettes. FASHIONALLY Presentation: Szmannie Theme: The Devotion Inspired by 1920s Art Deco, this collection fuses bold geometric lines with delicate Oriental grace. Salon de TIME was fully open to the public with free admission. Together with CENTRESTAGE, held concurrently, the two events attracted over 20,000 public visits for shopping and visits, showcasing the latest products from more than 400 watch and fashion brands. Salon de TIME was fully open to the public, inviting visitors to explore the latest watch collections, shop for their favourite timepieces and participate in a wide range of exciting onsite activities. HKTDC Associate Executive Director Smilely Lam said: "As the world's largest one-stop watch and clock marketplace, the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and Salon de TIME connect the entire value chain spanning manufacturing, sourcing and brand promotion, bringing together brands, watchmakers, suppliers, retailers, collectors, watch media and enthusiasts from around the world to create a comprehensive industry ecosystem. This year, Salon de TIME attracted more than 150 brands from across the globe, achieving a record scale and further enhancing the fair's international profile and diversity. The number of exhibitors in the Microbrands zone doubled compared with last year. From what we observed at the fair, there is strong market demand for microbrands, Guochao-inspired watches, and cross-industry collaborations, reflecting consumers' growing appreciation for personalised designs, cultural and creative elements, and compelling brand stories. World Brand Piazza, a signature attraction of Salon de TIME, showcased six world-renowned watch brands. This year, Salon de TIME featured many Chinese Mainland brands and renowned independent watchmakers showcasing Guochao timepieces, including Shanghai Watch, FIYTA, and Zbioland. The fairs created opportunities for industry players worldwide to connect, collaborate and forge business partnerships, and also fully demonstrated Hong Kong's strengths as an international trading platform by attracting global opportunities to Hong Kong while helping Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland enterprises and brands expand into overseas markets." Survey finds strong growth prospects in Latin America and Korea During the fair, HKTDC conducted a survey, interviewing around 890 exhibitors and buyers to gain insights into the future development of the global watch and clock industry, as well as industry perceptions of market prospects and product trends. The survey found that 50% of respondents expect overall sales to increase over the next 12 to 24 months, while 43% anticipate sales will remain stable. Respondents identified the following target markets as offering promising or very promising growth prospects for the watch and clock industry over the next two years such as Latin America (68%), Korea (67%), the Middle East (64%), Australia (64%) and South Africa (64%). Regarding product trends, 37% of respondents believe fashion watches offer the greatest growth potential, followed by smart watches (30%) and casual watches (26%). Exhibitors and buyers report robust business results A representative of the Hengyang, Hunan pavilion, Lu Yalan, Brand Manager of Nanyue Watches at Hunan Shengshi Weide Technology Co., Ltd., said: “The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair is an international event that fully leverages Hong Kong’s unique strengths as a gateway connecting the Chinese Mainland and the world, as well as its blend of Eastern and Western cultures, making it an ideal platform for us to expand into overseas markets. We have already connected with potential buyers from India, Italy, and Malaysia, including an Italian buyer who is interested in purchasing 2,000 watches. We expect sales generated during the five-day fair to exceed US$3 million. Through HKTDC’s extensive international business network, we hope to bring watches that embody distinctive Chinese cultural elements to a wider range of overseas markets.” Chauncey Chiu, Senior Sales Manager, Peacock Watch (Group) Co., Ltd., said: “Global recognition of Chinese watchmaking has continued to grow in recent years, and we are leveraging the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair to further expand into overseas markets, particularly Europe and the US. This year, we have also made first-time connections with new customers from Kuwait and Mexico. During the fair, we secured orders every day, and we expect total sales generated from this year’s fair to exceed RMB10 million.” Nabil Dabaan, CEO of Jovial, a watch wholesaler and retailer from the United Arab Emirates, said: “During this year’s fair, we expect to source approximately US$1 million worth of watch components from nine suppliers, including two newly identified suppliers. In addition, we plan to purchase around US$250,000 worth of packaging boxes, shopping bags and display materials.” CN Innovations Limited, which has participated every Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair since the beginning, marked the fair’s 45th edition this year by showcasing innovative achievements, including 3D-printed titanium watches. SK Chong, Business Development Director of CN Innovation Limited, said: “We have participated in the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair for 45 consecutive years, and it remains an irreplaceable platform for our business. Over the years, the fair's role has evolved significantly, transforming from a venue focused primarily on direct, transaction-driven trade into a strategic platform for industry exchange and market promotion. As the world's largest importer of watches and a leading exporter, Hong Kong offers the ideal stage to showcase our rich heritage and our latest innovations and R&D achievements.” At Salon de TIME, several exhibitors showcased watches inspired by the Guochao trend. Among them, Sun International Concepts Ltd. presented five renowned Chinese Mainland watch brands, including creations by Xushu Ma, Zehua Tan and Lin Yonghua, members of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI) from the Chinese Mainland, who showcased their craftsmanship through distinctive Chinese timepieces. David Sun, the company's Executive Director, said the company received 17 enquiries for bespoke timepieces, including eight from Dubai, the Philippines, Thailand and other overseas markets, generating customised watch orders totalling HK$4 million. He added that the exhibition provides an effective platform for brands to connect with collectors and overseas distributors, helping Chinese Mainland brands expand into overseas retail channels and international markets. As an international platform, the fair also supports brands in expanding their overseas distribution networks and accelerating their global growth. Leveraging the Salon de TIME as an important platform for international expansion, Sea-Gull Watch and Shanghai Watch also held product launch events during the fair, showcasing Chinese watchmaking craftsmanship and innovative technologies to the international market. George Xu, CEO, Fosun Watch Group, said: “The two brands have engaged with customers from markets including India, the Middle East, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. We expect sales generated from this year’s exhibition to exceed HK$1 million. Over the years, the fair has also helped us gradually expand into overseas markets. For example, a Turkish client we met at last year’s fair is now in the process of opening a dedicated retail store in Turkey. Hong Kong is also a very important market for us. Following the encouraging response to the opening of our first store in Tsim Sha Tsui earlier this year, we plan to launch our flagship store in Central after the fair. This will further strengthen our brand presence and expand our influence in both the Hong Kong and overseas markets.” The Microbrands zone attracted 29 brands from eight countries and regions this year, more than double the number recorded last year. Making its debut at the fair, MicroMilspec, an independent watch brand from Norway, showcased its new Field Master timepiece in the pavilion and received an overwhelmingly positive response. Katarina Halvorssen, Customer Relationship Management & Sales Manager, MicroMilspec, said: “More than 170 visitors came to our booth on the first day alone, including customers from Hong Kong, India, the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. We estimate potential sales of around US$29,000. For us, the fair is not only an opportunity to showcase our brand, but also an important gateway to the Asian market.” Watchcatavlog from Hong Kong, a returning exhibitor, showcased 10 microbrands this year. Its Founder, Ciff Luk, said: “Salon de TIME allows watch enthusiasts to try on and experience the timepieces firsthand through wrist trials, while also helping brands connect directly with international buyers. We expect sales to reach HK$280,000. Visitor inquiries have increased 20% year-on-year, and we have attracted interest from buyers in Brazil, Canada, India, Kuwait, the Philippines, Singapore, and the US. Both visitor traffic and buyer quality have improved this year.” WOLF, the luxury watch storage and watch winder brand from the UK, made its debut at the Fair and launched Rocket, the world’s most compact travel watch winder, during the exhibition. The platform has enabled us to efficiently identify and engage with quality business prospects from around the world.” Amarildo Pilo, Owner of PILO & CO SA and Founder of the Swiss Independent Watchmakers Pavilion (SIWP), said: “The fair’s international reach is a key reason why we continue to participate, helping us connect with buyers from Asia, the Middle East and the US. We have met more than 10 clients interested in our products, including three new contacts from Kazakhstan and a buyer from the Chinese Mainland. The SIWP Pavilion has also grown from 10 brands last year to 14 this year, reflecting how HKTDC’s platform helps Swiss independent brands explore new distribution opportunities and further expand into international markets.” The fairs featured a strong lineup of international exhibitors, including the Swiss Independent Watchmakers Pavilion (SIWP) from Switzerland (above) and Francéclat from France. LINK2CARE, in collaboration with Swiss watch brand MARVIN, launched a luxury smartwatch that integrates LINK2CARE’s patented leather strap with concealed, medical-grade biometric sensors. The watch provides comprehensive health monitoring and can track users’ resilience and stress levels in real time, with the data displayed directly on the watch dial. Paul Yuen, Director, Dayton Industrial Co. Ltd, said: “The fair attracted a diverse range of buyers from around the world. We also established a cross-industry partnership with a tour guide to explore new opportunities in the wellness tourism sector. Our watches, priced at over HK$2,000, sold more than 100 units on the first day alone, requiring immediate stock replenishment. In addition, the organiser’s newly introduced Time Arena activity zone, which incorporated trendy elements such as pickleball, significantly enhanced visitor engagement and attracted buyers and consumers from different backgrounds, creating more business opportunities for brands.” Salon de TIME once again offered free admission to the public, with some brands providing on-site retail sales. Abel Hwong, Publisher & Anchor, World of Luxury Times, led a 26-member delegation to the fair to purchase watches. He said: “We purchased 12 watches from three brands, with a total value exceeding HK$100,000. The fair lets collectors interact directly with brands and buy the timepieces they want, turning collecting enthusiasm into real purchases. It also helps brands connect with more watch enthusiasts and potential customers.” HKTDC will organise a series of trade fairs this autumn. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 13 to 16 October. Responding to the rapid development of streetwear in recent years, CENTRESTAGE introduced the brand-new Hype² pavilion for the first time this year, spotlighting multiple fashion labels spearheaded by local celebrities and KOLs. Several brands launched about 30 limited-edition and debut products during the fair, with celebrities also visited the zone for close interaction with fans. Fashion brand and online store Claro was founded this year by actress Rosita Kwok. She said: “We joined the fair to strengthen the positioning of the new brand and to stay on top of market trends. During the event, we attracted interest from buyers in the Chinese Mainland, Japan and Germany, laying a foundation for future market expansion. Through direct engagement with shoppers and fans at the fair, we were also able to gather valuable feedback for the brand.” CENTRESTAGE introduced the Hype² pavilion for the first time this year, launching about 30 limited-edition and debut products during the exhibition period. The "Hype² Fashion Show" was also held during the fair, with over 10 trendsetting brands collectively showcasing their design characteristics and brand styles in a bustling atmosphere. Cross-sector collaboration collections also caught the attention of buyers. Local designer Janko Lam's brand "Classics Anew" collaborated with ink painting artist Kan Tai-keung, transforming Kan's ink art into inspiration. Their first collaboration collection, "Quartet", was officially launched at CENTRESTAGE. This year’s CENTRESTAGE also strengthened on-the-ground support for local exhibiting brands. Ronald Chan, founder of gothic silver jewellery brand Devil Claw and a participant in the pre-fair workshop, said: “The mentors provided highly valuable practical guidance. The workshop made me realise that international buyers look beyond design and price, and place even greater importance on a brand’s operational capability and potential for long-term partnership.” He added that the brand generated tens of thousands of Hong Kong dollars in on-site retail sales during the exhibition and entered discussions with new buyers from France and Taiwan. Designer Janko Lam's brand "Classics Anew" and ink painting artist Kan Tai-keung launched their collaborative fashion collection "Quartet" at the fair. Both attended in person to show their support, demonstrating the infinite possibilities of cross-sector collaboration. Active business exchanges between brands and buyers as the platform plays a superconnector roleKorea debuted as the "Featured Partner" of the fair for the first time. Jointly organised by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), HISEOUL SHOWROOM, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong, presenting 12 renowned designer brands from Seoul. In addition, the Gyeonggi Fashion Creative Studio brings 10 distinguished fashion labels from Gyeonggi Province. Wilfred Chung, Project Manager of KOTRA Hong Kong, commended CENTRESTAGE’s quality business-matching environment. He said the stylish and sophisticated setting brings fresh experiences: “Visitor traffic on the pavilion’s opening day exceeded expectations, attracting more than 400 visits. Some brands have already reached deals with Hong Kong buyers to launch offline retail at a major shopping mall in Kai Tak.” In addition to connecting with Hong Kong buyers, CENTRESTAGE also helped brands in the Korean pavilion expand into international markets. Antonio Shin, founder and designer of the namesake Korean fashion brand, presented the SS27 Collection featuring local fabrics and production. The brand successfully connected with department stores, chain retailers and specialty-store buyers from the Chinese Mainland, France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia and Thailand. First-time exhibitor Asparagus, a Seoul-based avant-garde brand offering genderless high-end fashion, also drew strong buyer interest. Founder and designer Je Lee said: “The brand attracted attention from buyers in the Chinese Mainland, Southeast Asia and Australia. The fair is expected to generate initial orders of about US$6,000 to US$7,000, giving us a strong boost as we expand in the Asian market.” Including Korea, this year's CENTRESTAGE brings together exhibitors from 24 countries and regions, among which Austria, Colombia, the Faroe Islands, Malaysia, Slovakia, and the United Arab Emirates participated for the first time. Jennifer Feigll, Consul (Commercial Affairs) and Austrian Trade Commissioner for Hong Kong and Macao, and Head of Advantage Austria Hong Kong, led a national pavilion for the first time in the Circular Fashion zone, presenting seven sustainable brands, most of which were making their debut in Asia. She said: “The fair is an excellent starting point for entering Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and the wider Asian market. A number of brands have already begun discussions with buyers. Cape De Coeur’s waterproof cape, in particular, was featured by leading fashion titles Vogue and GQ.” Marianne Perkovic, Executive Chair, Australian Fashion Council, once again led a delegation to Hong Kong. She said: “The original plan of about 120 buyer meetings over the four-day fair increased to 180, with the strongest interest coming from buyers in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Indonesia and Korea. The team is now in talks with a major local shopping mall in Hong Kong on pop-up and long-term store collaborations for a new project scheduled to open in 2027. In addition, leather brand West 14th has already secured concrete partnerships with buyers from Korea and Japan.” The Canadian pavilion was led by the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macao, bringing together a lineup of women-founded and women-led premium brands. The fair attracted international buyers from leading department stores including Sophie Rose Davis-Evans, menswear and streetwear buyer at renowned British department store Selfridges, who was visiting CENTRESTAGE for the first time. She noted that the fair's diverse portfolio of brands provides an excellent platform for discovering emerging labels with strong potential for the UK and Western European markets. She said: “I met with more than 10 emerging brands during the fair, and two Hong Kong labels, peces and MURFI LAU, stood out in particular. We are negotiating a wholesale partnership.” Tifandy Okto, General Manager of Indonesia’s Galeries Lafayette, also overseeing sourcing for Sogo and Seibu, “We are particularly interested in Australia’s VICETA WANG and Chinese Mainland brand WANZZZ. Subject to suitable commercial terms, we plan to introduce their products to our retail outlets.” Richie Chan, founder of well-known Chengdu fashion store Triple Major, visited the fair for the first time and spoke highly of the exhibition, noting that it successfully met his dual objectives of retail sourcing and elevating his own fashion brand. He placed three orders on the spot, including Danish brand Henrik Vibskov, which meets Paris Fashion Week standards, and Thai brand Collector Project, founded by a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium. He also connected with Austrian premium fabric supplier Lenzing to upgrade his own brand, and described the visit as highly rewarding. The fair featured seven themed zones covering a diverse range of fashion sectors and design styles. New this year, the Perfume zone brought together renowned fragrance brands from around the world, with more than 20 brands making their Hong Kong debut. The zone attracted strong visitor interest and maintained a lively atmosphere throughout the fair. Moon Li, Founder of Artis Cultural Association, praised the fair's extensive media exposure and sophisticated presentation, noting that both had provided participating international perfume brands with outstanding visibility and results that far exceeded expectations. She said: "We were pleasantly surprised by the large number of fragrance enthusiasts in Hong Kong and their strong purchasing power. We expect on-site retail sales during the fair to reach HK$100,000." The fair also arranged business matching sessions to help exhibitors explore further collaboration opportunities. Looking ahead, Li expressed her special hope that, through CENTRESTAGE, the Perfume zone could evolve into Hong Kong's flagship fragrance event. The newly introduced Perfume zone this year brought together well-known fragrance brands from around the world. The area was lively, with steady streams of visitors. Record-breaking over 30 fashion shows and designers actively showcase new collectionsOver 40 captivating events were held during the fair, including more than 30 fashion shows, setting a record high in the event's history. This not only brought a rich visual feast to the industry and the public but also fully demonstrated the vitality and advantages of Hong Kong as a "mega-event capital". The event also underscored designers' commitment to presenting their latest collections, showcasing the exchange and integration of local and international fashion creativity. The grand opening fashion show, CENTRESTAGE ELITES, took place first on 2 September, putting the spotlight on KIT WAN STUDIOS, a multidisciplinary design and visual art studio. Over 30 brand-new looks that had never been publicly released or exhibited made their debut at the fashion show, stunning the entire audience. The venue was packed, and the audience responded enthusiastically. Another spotlight event, the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show, was held on 3 September, presenting meticulously crafted Spring/Summer 2027 collections by four highly representative homegrown designer labels—112 mountainyam, ANGUS TSUI, ARTY:ACTIVE, and Z I D I. Under the theme "Hong Kong Dopamine", the four designers drew inspiration from the city's streetscapes, architecture, cultural memories and urban energy. Through their Spring/Summer 2027 collections, they interpreted the concept of dopamine from different perspectives, spanning joy, black humour, dynamic movement and quiet resilience, delivering a runway experience infused with Hong Kong's distinctive creative spirit.
