Toyota Recalls Certain Model Year 2026 C-HR Vehicles

PLANO, Texas (Sept. 2, 2026) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2026 C-HR vehicles in North America. Approximately 10,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
Regenerative braking operation helps charge the drive battery in the subject vehicles. Under certain conditions when the battery has a high level of charge, regenerative braking can cause the battery to become overcharged due to a software issue. If this occurs, the electric drive system can shut down, causing a loss of motive power. A loss of motive power while driving at higher speeds can increase the risk of a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will update the software of the Battery Electric Vehicle Electronic Control Unit.
Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by early November 2026.
Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter.
