In Tin Coffins, players take on the role of Talon-22, a combat clone freshly printed and sent into a war that has already claimed twenty-one previous versions of them. Piloting a four-meter armored mech, players fight through devastated cities, lead their squad against enemy forces, and attempt to survive missions where a single tactical mistake can mean death. When a pilot falls, the war continues, and the next clone takes their place.
Unlike traditional power-fantasy mech shooters, Tin Coffins emphasizes positioning, coordination, and survival. Enemy squads use coordinated tactics to flank, suppress, retreat, and hold defensive positions, forcing players to make careful use of cover, sightlines, and their squad's abilities. With realistic per-limb damage, friendly fire, and deadly firefights, even heavily armored mechs are far from invincible.
The game also features a persistent roguelite structure, where each operation affects the ongoing war and salvaged resources unlock equipment that survives beyond an individual pilot.
The Steam Next Fest Demo Includes:
-
The first act of the game, featuring approximately two hours of gameplay, depending on player experience and approach.
-
Four-player online co-op, with the option to host private squads, join other players using a short code, or find teammates through random matchmaking.
-
Tactical mech combat against enemy squads that coordinate attacks, use cover, suppress opponents, and respond to changing battlefield conditions.
-
A selection of unlockable weapons and mechs, allowing players to experiment with different combat loadouts.
-
Procedurally generated urban battlefields, featuring ruined streets, buildings, and combat encounters.
-
Multiple co-op mission types, with access to the weapons and mechs players have unlocked, alongside integrated push-to-talk voice chat.
Whether playing alone with AI-controlled wingmates or coordinating with friends, survival depends on knowing when to advance, when to retreat, and how to keep the squad together.
