OWINGS MILLS, Md., October 21, 2026--The Presidio Group LLC ("Presidio"), an independent merchant banking firm focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and investments in the automotive retail and consumer mobility sectors, exclusively advised Asbury Automotive Group Inc. ("Asbury") (NYSE: ABG) on the sale of Kia of Owings Mills in Owings Mills, Md., and its related real estate, to Stivers Automotive Group ("Stivers"). The transaction closed Oct. 19.
The sale furthers Asbury's portfolio management efforts, which are aimed at concentrating the dealership group's resources on its core business and key expansion opportunities.
"Consistent with our long-term value creation strategy, we continually evaluate our portfolio to ensure we are investing where we can best serve our shareholders, team members and guests," said Daniel Clara, president and CEO of Asbury Automotive Group. "The decision to divest any dealership is not made lightly. We appreciate the guidance of the Presidio team in identifying the right buyer, and we are confident Stivers will be an excellent steward for the Kia of Owings Mills team."
The transaction gives Stivers Automotive Group its first Kia dealership and expands its footprint into the Mid-Atlantic region.
"Kia has built an impressive product lineup and continues to strengthen its position with consumers, making this an attractive opportunity for our organization," said Eddie Stivers, vice president of Stivers Automotive Group. "As we expand beyond our traditional brands and region, Kia of Owings Mills gives us an established foothold in a new market that we look forward to building upon. We appreciate the confidence Asbury and Presidio placed in us and commend Presidio for its top-notch professionalism and expertise, which was on display once again in this transaction."
With Stivers, Presidio was able to help Asbury find an experienced operator and buyer who recognized the attractive opportunity presented by Kia of Owings Mills.
"We were privileged to once again help Asbury execute a transaction that advances its portfolio-management objectives," said Alex Watterson, managing director at The Presidio Group. "Stivers' operating history, support of the Kia brand and interest in expanding into a new region made the group a strong fit for the dealership."
With this transaction, Presidio has now advised Asbury on the sale of 10 dealerships and one collision center across three markets in 2026.
"The confidence Asbury continues to place in Presidio is an honor, and we are proud to serve as a trusted advisor in these important transactions," said George Karolis, president of The Presidio Group. "Our decades-long relationship with Dan Clara and the rest of Asbury's leadership team gives us a deep understanding of the company's priorities, enabling Presidio to efficiently manage these divestitures so they can stay focused on their core business. We aim to keep earning that trust through the thoughtful advice and disciplined execution that have long been the foundation of this relationship."
