Free broker training program passes 1,700 downloads as the employee benefits firm plans a new podcast and YouTube channel for benefits professionals in 2027.

In response, the firm plans to expand its free education for benefits professionals in 2027 with a new podcast and YouTube channel. The program challenges what the company views as one of the industry's most persistent problems: treating the annual insurance renewal as the benefits strategy itself.
The training materials encourage brokers to act as employee benefits consultants who look past the renewal and understand the business and employee problems an employer needs to solve. The team at The Benefit Doctor believes that process begins with better questions about what an employer is trying to accomplish and what employees actually value. The materials also cover issues such as access to care and the costs employees face when using their benefits, which are relevant to both brokers and employers. They examine how to effectively communicate, enroll, and support a plan throughout the year.
The new podcast and YouTube channel will extend that education to benefits professionals and to employers looking to challenge the status quo of traditional employee benefits. Planned topics include benefits strategy, plan design, employee education, enrollment, healthcare costs, and the changing role of the benefits advisor.
Team members from The Benefit Doctor and other voices from across the industry will appear, and the series will cover what has worked and what has not.
