Terminus: Day Zero

Live through the first day of the outbreak as Daisy, a young girl home alone, in a short story set in the world of Terminus: Zombie Survivors

October 19, 2026 - Longplay Studios, the studio behind the award-winning survival roguelike Terminus: Zombie Survivors, which has sold more than 150,000 copies on Steam, today announced Terminus: Day Zero, a free, short zombie survival adventure set in the same world. The game launches on Steam on November 18.

Terminus: Day Zero follows the first day of the outbreak through the eyes of Daisy, a young girl who wakes up to an empty house. She calls for Mom and Dad, and nobody calls back. Before long, the dead find a way inside.

Daisy can't fight back. What she has is what every kid knows: the best hiding places in the house, and which doors still close. Players squeeze under beds and hold their breath while something shuffles past, shut doors behind them, and back away hoping they hold. Her street is full of strangers now, and every one of them was somebody once: a neighbor who waved from the porch, a face she passed on the way to school. Sooner or later, hiding isn't enough, and Daisy has to run for it through the yards and fences of a neighborhood she knows better than anything chasing her.

The game takes about an hour to finish and tells a self-contained story, so no experience with Terminus: Zombie Survivors is needed.

“Terminus: Zombie Survivors begins weeks into the outbreak, when the survivors already know how this world works. With Day Zero, we wanted to go back to the very first day and see it through the eyes of someone who can't fight back and doesn't understand what's happening,” says Shin In-geon, lead developer at Longplay Studios. “It's short and it's free, so anyone curious about the world of Terminus can step right in.”

Terminus: Day Zero will be available in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
