Susan Estrich of Estrich Goldin LLP Issues Statement on Dismissal With Prejudice of Jane Doe Lawsuit Against Leon Black

Business Wire

NEW YORK, October 16, 2026--Susan Estrich of Estrich Goldin, attorney for Leon Black, offered the following comment on the federal district court's order dismissing with prejudice Jane Doe's lawsuit against Leon Black:

"We are pleased that Judge Clarke dismissed with prejudice Jane Doe's lawsuit against Leon Black.

"This lawsuit never should have been filed in the first place. Jane Doe's complaint was a work of fiction, authored by the Wigdor firm, filled with ugly lies and vicious fabrications.

"Mr. Black has suffered immensely by a rush to judgment by irresponsible media and politicians who recklessly parroted these malicious and evil lies, falsely branding him a 'rapist' and a 'pedophile.'

"A federal judge, appointed by President Biden, determined that this lawsuit was a malicious fabrication and sanctioned Jane Doe, her lawyer at the time, Jeanne Christensen, and the Wigdor Law Firm, in a remarkable 76-page ruling cataloging multiple episodes of lying, fabricating evidence and destroying exculpatory material.

"This is not the first time Mr. Black has been wrongfully accused. Two other lawsuits manufactured by the Wigdor law firm were dismissed with prejudice.

"It is shameful that those dismissals have been ignored and the lies by the Wigdor firm and their handpicked 'plaintiffs' have been broadly promulgated across social media and in the halls of Congress by people like Congressmen Garcia and Khanna. This irresponsible broadcasting of malicious lies has led to threats of violence and death against Mr. Black and his family. This entire episode underscores that our legal system is broken and in need of immediate repair.

"While the frivolous litigations pursued by the Wigdor firm have now all been dismissed with prejudice and the firm faces massive sanctions, Mr. Black intends to pursue every legal action available to hold those responsible fully accountable for damaging his reputation and putting him and his family at grave risk."

Mr. Black is represented by: Michael Carlinsky and partners at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP; E. Danya Perry and partners at Perry Law; and Susan Estrich and partners at Estrich Goldin LLP.
