Los Angeles, California--(October 19, 2026) - The Sheila Busheri Scholarship for Medical Students is now accepting applications from undergraduate students pursuing medical careers and students enrolled in accredited medical schools. The scholarship provides an opportunity for aspiring healthcare professionals to present ideas focused on expanding healthcare access, advancing innovation, and addressing challenges affecting underserved communities.

The scholarship centers on an essay competition designed to encourage emerging medical professionals to consider how their education and future careers can contribute to meaningful improvements across the healthcare industry. Applicants are asked to submit an original essay of no more than 1,000 words addressing the prompt: "How do you envision utilizing your medical education to improve healthcare access or innovation for underserved populations, and how has the career of a healthcare leader like Sheila Busheri inspired your professional goals?"

The Sheila Busheri Scholarship for Medical Students is open to undergraduate students currently pursuing a medical career path as well as students attending an accredited medical school. Applicants must demonstrate a clear intention to enter the medical profession and contribute to the continued development of healthcare.
