SAP Recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud ERP for Finance

SAP

We are pleased to announce that SAP has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud ERP for Finance*. We believe this recognition reflects our continued commitment to helping organizations build intelligent, connected finance functions that can deliver greater insight, efficiency, and business impact.

Today’s finance leaders are expected not only to report on business performance, but also to help shape it. They need a foundation that connects financial and operational data, supports end-to-end processes, and helps teams move from insight to action with speed and confidence.

Recognized for cloud ERP for finance

For us, this recognition is about more than technology. In our opinion, it reflects the importance of a strong digital foundation that brings together financial and management accounting, operational context, trusted data, and embedded intelligence to help finance teams work more effectively.

At the heart of SAP Cloud ERP is a unified data model and common journal that can connect financial information with the business processes behind it. We believe this approach can help organizations reduce reconciliation effort, gain a more multidimensional view of performance, and give finance teams the context they need to make informed decisions.

As the role of finance continues to evolve, we remain focused on helping customers simplify core processes while creating the foundation for new capabilities in automation and AI. This combination of connected data, processes, and intelligence is central to our vision for the future of finance.

Connecting financial and operational decisions

Finance transformation increasingly depends on connecting processes across the enterprise. By bringing together finance with purchasing, sales, inventory, and other operations, organizations can better understand what’s driving financial outcomes and address issues in context.

SAP helps bring financial and operational processes together across the enterprise. We believe this approach can help finance teams improve transparency, strengthen governance, and resolve issues earlier, including during the financial close.

AI is becoming an important part of that connected experience. Joule and SAP’s growing portfolio of persona-based assistants are designed to work within business processes and established controls. These capabilities can help finance professionals identify anomalies, automate selected activities, address exceptions, and focus their expertise on higher-value work.

Recent innovations announced at SAP Connect in 2026 build on this direction. New Joule Assistants for finance, SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation, and SAP Pay are designed to connect data and workflows more closely while supporting the governance and auditability finance teams require.

Supporting customer transformation

BMW Group demonstrates how a connected finance foundation can support transformation at scale. Through its “Group Finance Backbone” initiative, the company worked with SAP to harmonize finance operations across manufacturing, sales, and financial services. BMW Group established one integrated finance template supporting organization-wide reporting, standardized approximately 800 ground-level processes, and improved data comparability and granularity across 15 major source systems.

We believe customer outcomes like these demonstrate the importance of combining standardized processes, trusted data, and central governance to help global organizations improve transparency and prepare for future innovation.

Building the future of finance

Finance leaders are balancing a growing range of priorities, from improving operational performance and managing risk to preparing their organizations for AI-powered innovation. SAP remains focused on helping them address those priorities with a unified foundation that connects data, processes, and people across the enterprise.

We are proud to be recognized as a Leader in this Magic Quadrant and remain committed to helping customers build finance organizations that are intelligent, connected, and ready for what comes next.
