Jennifer Hadley Photography Announces 2027 Pumas of Patagonia Photography Expedition
Photograph Wild Pumas on Foot in Patagonia
RALEIGH, N.C., 2026-10-19 — Jennifer Hadley Photography has announced its 2027 Pumas of Patagonia wildlife photography expedition, taking place March 10–17, 2027, in Torres del Paine and the surrounding private estancia landscape of southern Chile. The eight-day departure is limited to two to five travellers and is priced from USD $10,800.
The expedition is structured around five full days of puma tracking and photography. Dedicated local guides and a tracker operating from a separate scout vehicle help locate puma activity, after which participants may photograph the animals on foot, either from a position or while following their movement across the landscape. The itinerary uses both public areas and private estancia land, where special permits provide access to additional puma habitat.
The small-group structure is central to the experience. With a maximum of five travellers, the trip provides space for individual photographic guidance while keeping field groups quiet and manageable. The programme combines puma photography with opportunities to photograph the wider Patagonian environment and wildlife, including guanacos and condors.
The journey begins in Port Natales with a welcome dinner. On the second day, the group travels through Torres del Paine National Park before checking into the lodge. Days three through seven are dedicated to puma tracking, beginning before sunrise and continuing through the day, with the possibility of landscape and other wildlife photography between puma sessions. The final day includes time in the park before returning to Port Natales for onward flights to Santiago.
The package includes accommodation, including the first night, all meals and the welcome dinner, wine, beer and soda with dinner, professional local guides, park passes, access to private estancia land, and transfers to and from the park. The published 2027 departure currently lists a group size of two to five travellers and availability for up to five places.
Ethical wildlife observation is also built into the structure of the trip. Jennifer Hadley Photography describes the expedition as focusing on ethical, on-foot tracking that prioritises natural puma behaviour, supported by local guides and dedicated tracker assistance rather than approaching the experience solely as a vehicle-based wildlife safari.
A previous Pumas of Patagonia traveller described the combination of photographic development and time in the field: “I came away from this trip with new skills and a deeper appreciation for wildlife and landscape photography.”
The 2027 departure follows previous Pumas of Patagonia trips and gives photographers and wildlife travellers another opportunity to experience the region through a small-group format. Jennifer Hadley Photography also states that its wildlife tours are designed around field-based mentorship, thoughtful pacing and ethical wildlife practices.
