Explore news and innovations announced at SAP Connect 2026 that are bringing the SAP Autonomous Enterprise to life — including Joule, SAP Autonomous Suite and SAP Business AI Platform. About this Guide The SAP Connect 2026 Innovation News Guide illustrates how SAP’s vision of the Autonomous Enterprise is becoming a reality, enabling various personas to work alongside AI assistants and agents across end-to-end business processes. SAP Autonomous Suite offerings in the finance, spend, supply chain, human capital management and customer experience domains help organizations use AI to streamline operations, enhance productivity and drive greater business resilience. The Autonomous Enterprise comprises the Joule Work capability, SAP Autonomous Suite and SAP Business AI Platform and includes industry scenarios that combine AI innovation with SAP's deep process and vertical expertise. Now line-of-business domains in SAP Autonomous Suite are expanding with new Joule Assistants, Joule Agents and AI capabilities — all supported by SAP Business AI Platform. SAP Autonomous Suite assistants and agents, Joule Studio and Joule Work are delivered and activated as SAP-managed experiences through the SAP for Me portal, and are already delivering value in customer environments. Feedback and insights gained during early adoption programs have helped shape and refine the offerings. Building on this momentum, general availability for these innovations starts in October, with further innovations and capabilities as SAP continues to expand the portfolio. Read the press release Financial Management New SAP Pay Solution Embeds Autonomous Payments in SAP Cloud ERP SAP is entering the payment services market with the SAP Pay solution, a payment service embedded directly into the workflows in SAP Cloud ERP applications. SAP Pay is powered by Tereina, a regulated payment-service provider founded in April 2026 as a wholly owned SAP subsidiary to enable SAP’s entry into the payments space. For finance organizations, the payment process has traditionally required separate banking platforms, file transfers, third-party middleware and postpayment reconciliation — which often require time-consuming IT projects to implement. SAP Pay can help remove that complexity. When an invoice is approved in an SAP Cloud ERP application, SAP Pay automatically executes payment and reconciles it against the corresponding invoice or purchase order. This helps remove manual bank file handling, external payment processing dependencies and reconciliation delays. The service supports payments via EFT (including ACH), wire and check, as well as stablecoin-based settlement for cross-border transactions, so that organizations can execute and reconcile payments in a single workflow. Payment processing, reconciliation, controls and auditability all occur within the ERP environment. A global distributor of networking and wireless broadband solutions is already using SAP Pay to automate supplier and treasury payments, citing benefits such as the ability to simplify complex payment and supplier processes and help ensure timely payments. SAP Pay is generally available now in the United States and United Kingdom. Autonomous EPM Advances with New SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation Solution The new SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation solution will advance SAP’s vision for autonomous enterprise performance management (EPM). Designed to provide finance organizations with a continuous understanding of performance, the new solution can free up time for finance professionals to act on insights rather than spending resources to reconcile plans, results and disclosures. This builds on the launch of the SAP Enterprise Planning solution at the SAP Sapphire event in May 2026. Built with components in the SAP Business Data Cloud solution, SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation will bring together statutory and management consolidation with close and disclosure capabilities. It will enable finance teams to track performance using the same governed data foundation, supporting faster decision-making, more efficient reconciliation and greater confidence in guiding business performance and regulatory reporting. SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation will also include two new Joule Assistants to help manage consolidation and disclosures. These assistants will use SAP-curated data products to help finance teams identify anomalies, resolve exceptions and coordinate disclosure preparation within auditable, human-supervised workflows. The assistants will also help finance teams prepare disclosures more efficiently and reduce the manual effort needed for many tasks. Customers that already have group reporting solutions from SAP can use SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation alongside their existing tools. The solution will be particularly useful for companies that run several different software systems — whether SAP or third-party — since it can pull financial data from any of them. This will give customers more flexibility and help protect their existing investments. For customers using other EPM software from SAP, such as the SAP Business Planning and Consolidation or SAP Financial Consolidation applications, this announcement offers a path to an AI-native EPM solution, supported by migration tooling and services. Early adopter care availability for SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation is planned for Q1 2027. Autonomous Finance Expands with New Joule Assistants for Accounting, Reporting and Project Operations The Autonomous Finance domain will expand with new Joule Assistants designed to support accounting, revenue management, financial reporting and project operations. This will build on the Joule Assistants for finance introduced at SAP Sapphire earlier this year, which use AI to automate finance processes that have traditionally required significant manual effort and cross-functional coordination. These existing assistants will also be enhanced with new, specialized agents for financial close, planning, treasury, billing, tax and receivables management processes. Accounting and financial close Overhead Accounting Assistant: will support controlling teams in maintaining allocation definitions, performing mass changes to cost and profit centers, and sustaining statistical key figures (SKFs). It will do this while analyzing allocation results and statistics to improve explainability and accelerate period-end processing. Revenue Recognition Assistant: will help finance teams understand revenue-recognition configurations, calculations, posting history and document flow while categorizing business transactions across contracts for revenue recognition processing under International Financial Reporting Standard 15 (IFRS 15) and US GAAP. This supports organizations in maintaining audit-ready revenue reporting. Revenue management Pricing Assistant: will help commercial and finance teams optimize prices to meet margin and revenue objectives, respond faster to cost and market shifts, and reduce pricing operations costs. Quoting Assistant: will support sales teams in creating accurate and compliant quotes. Learn more about the Quoting Assistant . Financial reporting Disclosure Assistant: will aid in automating last-mile external reporting activities spanning data sourcing, tagging, narrative drafting and publication validation. This will help reduce the effort associated with creating compliant financial disclosures. Project operations Project Management Assistant: can coordinate resource planning, milestone tracking, billing processes and expense governance, helping organizations improve project visibility while identifying risks and margin issues earlier. SAP Early Adopter Care program availability for the Joule Assistants noted above is planned for Q1 2027. Autonomous EPM Advances with New SAP Enterprise Financial Consolidation Solution New Joule Assistants and Joule Agents will expand SAP governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) solutions, adding support for access, security, governance monitoring and trade compliance. These innovations can provide continuous visibility and governance for organizations using AI-driven processes and autonomous agents across finance, procurement, supply chain and other enterprise functions: Access Governance and Security Assistant: will help coordinate access to onboarding, role design, privileged access management and continuous compliance monitoring across human and AI identities. The assistant extends identity governance to cover autonomous agents alongside traditional users, applying consistent access controls across all actors operating within the enterprise. Real-time security analytics help detect behavioral threats as they emerge. Governance Assistant: will correlate behavior across multiple systems by connecting existing GRC solutions and surfacing risk and control signals. Rather than replacing current GRC investments, the assistant adds an AI-native layer that interprets behavioral signals, correlates risks across structured and unstructured data sources, and delivers role-based answers to business, compliance, security and finance stakeholders. This helps organizations move from periodic, fragmented oversight to continuous risk and compliance monitoring. International Trade Assistant: will automate product classification, compliance documentation and sanctions screening. Early customer deployments show that this assistant will substantially reduce the manual effort involved in collecting product information and classifying trade products. These assistants will help ensure the SAP Autonomous Suite operates safely as agents execute work across the enterprise. Rather than adding another layer of oversight, the assistants extend existing identity and GRC controls to AI directly, so agents cannot exceed defined limits or act beyond the authorizations provided by the employee who initiated the request. General availability for the Access Governance and Security Assistant is planned for Q1 2027. General availability for the Governance Assistant and the International Trade Assistant is planned for Q4 2026. Spend Management Moody’s Risk Intelligence Embedded in SAP Ariba to Support Risk-Aware AI A new partnership between SAP and Moody’s Corporation is designed to support customers at a critical point in decision-making by embedding continuous monitoring of supplier risk within procurement workflows. Moody’s supplier risk monitoring data will be built into the SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance solution, placing real-time insights on financial health, operational risk and regulatory status at the point where procurement decisions are made. Today, most procurement teams assess supplier risk in periodic reviews, reconciling data from disconnected third-party tools, custom integrations and spreadsheets. By the time a risk has been identified, the window to act has often closed, putting business continuity and sourced savings at stake. This new partnership will help procurement teams identify risks early and address them promptly. To help reduce customers’ reliance on separate risk tools, SAP will embed Moody’s intelligence directly within SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance alongside supplier master data and performance metrics. This will provide procurement teams with a single supplier profile that unifies information regarding performance, risk and collaboration. The integration also helps create a foundation for autonomous procurement. With Moody’s data embedded natively in SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, Joule Agents can treat risk as a live signal and prompt coordinated responses. For example, if a Joule Agent detects a shift in a supplier’s financial health or regulatory status, it can flag the supplier and surface alternatives before an issue disrupts operations. People set the boundaries, but Joule Agents handle the operational complexity within them. General availability of these capabilities in SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance is planned for Q4 2026. Autonomous Spend Management Extended with the Spend Analytics Assistant and Contingent Workforce Assistant These new Joule Assistants will help advance Autonomous Spend Management , a domain within the SAP Autonomous Suite : Spend Analytics Assistant: will help procurement leaders analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings, compliance, supplier consolidation and risk mitigation. Each opportunity includes an estimated impact (such as projected savings) and can be monitored over time. The assistant reviews data from a company’s ERP or other source systems, then recommends ways to improve data quality for better classification and enrichment. It also benchmarks performance against available and appropriately sourced peer group data, flagging over- and underperformance and offering insights against key measures. A built-in dashboard prioritizes qualified opportunities with supporting evidence, helping teams act faster. Contingent Workforce Assistant: will give HR and procurement teams a single, connected experience to manage the contingent-worker lifecycle, from hiring and compliance to approvals and audit. It will support comprehensive visibility, flagging exceptions early — such as onboarding delays, pending approvals or compliance issues — before they affect a worker’s assignment. By surfacing actionable insights at each stage, the assistant helps teams hire the right talent, benchmark market rates and act proactively while maintaining an evidence-backed audit trail from hiring to offboarding. Together, these Joule Assistants will help customers address the guesswork created by fragmented processes, turning disconnected spend data into actions teams can trust. While AI recommends and prepares the work, people make the final call. General availability for the Spend Analytics Assistant is planned for Q1 2027. General availability for the Contingent Workforce Assistant is planned for Q4 2026. Business AI Platform SAP Reltio Unifies Application Data to Boost AI Impact The new SAP Reltio in SAP Business Data Cloud solution will help organizations unify fragmented data across SAP and third-party systems, providing trusted context to business applications and AI. This solution is based on technology from Reltio, which was recently acquired by SAP. Businesses often struggle with managing fragmented records across line-of-business (LOB) applications. Customers, suppliers, products or employees (referred to as "entities" by data experts) may be represented by multiple records across various LOB applications. Each system may hold only a partial view, use different identifiers or attributes, or reflect different versions of the same real-world entity. For example, terms such as "customer" or "supplier" can carry different business meanings depending on the application or process. AI systems don’t automatically reconcile these variances, which is required to deliver reliable results. Without holistic and consistent insight across application domains, the quality of AI and its ability to take decisive, well-informed action can be diminished. SAP Reltio addresses fragmentation by reconciling discrepancies and delivering trusted context that can be used across an organization. This is especially important for LOB application administrators, for whom SAP Reltio can provide a trusted, unified view of these entities. This "system of context" can be used consistently across business functions and applications, including SAP and third-party applications for HR, procurement, finance, sales and more. Data and analytics leaders can use the new solution to unite and enrich master data with context from additional domains and sources — for example, supplier data from SAP Ariba solutions — so AI agents can operate with coherent, accurate business context across the organization. This creates a trusted data foundation that enables AI to act independently, decisively and effectively to drive positive business outcomes. SAP Reltio is generally available now. SAP Signavio Portfolio Innovations Help Organizations Deploy Agentic AI More Effectively The SAP Signavio portfolio will expand with new capabilities designed to help organizations measure the impact of existing agentic AI investments and identify new opportunities to deploy AI agents. Organizations adopting AI agents at scale face a common challenge: designing, governing and operating enterprise AI agents that deliver measurable process outcomes. If they don’t have visibility into AI agent performance and the tools to measure it, organizations can find it difficult to systematically understand where AI can add the most value. The challenge deepens as AI agent deployments grow more complex; organizations running multiagent workflows often lack the means to track conformance, diagnose underperformance or understand how AI agent capabilities are being used in practice. SAP Signavio solutions address these challenges with two innovations that give LOB teams the governance and insight needed to scale AI agents responsibly. Enhanced AI agent mining can track and analyze multiagent workflows, giving organizations deeper visibility into performance, conformance and optimization opportunities across their AI deployments. New agentic AI capabilities for process consulting will go beyond SAP-centric processes and use process mining technology for deeper analysis. This will help LOB teams identify where AI agents can create the most value, without relying on IT or external consulting to map opportunities. General availability for these two capabilities is planned for Q1 2027. New AI Capabilities in the WalkMe Portfolio Help Identify and Address Adoption Challenges New AI capabilities within the WalkMe portfolio will help LOB teams identify barriers to employee adoption of enterprise software and related AI tools. This innovation can help make it easier to create in-app guidance to help users get maximum value from the technology. Application adoption is one of the biggest challenges faced by LOB IT professionals, with employees routinely struggling to execute complex workflows across multiple applications. Similarly, companies have deployed multiple AI assistants and agents without providing employees clear guidance about how to use these tools. This can lead to poor technology adoption, wasted investment and lost productivity. Organizations need visibility into where and why problems occur to determine a clear improvement path. New AI capabilities in WalkMe solutions address these challenges directly: AI insights: will help LOB leaders pinpoint where users are struggling. Rather than relying on IT or data analysts to build reports, leaders can ask questions in plain language and instantly receive custom dashboards built from real-time behavioral data. Whether the prompt is, "Where are users dropping off in our procurement process?" or "Show AI assistant usage to support internal procurement," AI insights deliver the answers without requiring technical skills or specialist support. AI authoring: will help turn insights about user pain points into action. Once a problem is identified, LOB teams no longer need to wait for developer resources or specialist authors to create in-app guidance. They can simply describe the experience they need — a step-by-step walkthrough, a tool tip or an alert — and AI authoring in WalkMe solutions builds it, ready to customize and publish directly to users. AI-enhanced insights and authoring capabilities in WalkMe solutions can give LOB teams comprehensive control, providing both the intelligence to understand how people work across enterprise applications and AI, and the tools to scale organizations’ technology adoption. Both capabilities are generally available now.
