GrowthDirect Introduces a Trade Planning Panel to Its Browser Trading Platform

Stockholm, Sweden, October 22nd, 2026, FinanceWire
GrowthDirect has added a trade planning panel to its browser trading platform, giving traders a structured space to define a price target, set a stop level, and review the implied position size before submitting an order. The panel sits alongside the standard order ticket and does not require a trader to leave the chart or open a separate tool.
The feature responds to a pattern identified in internal order entry workflow data. A notable proportion of traders were spending time between viewing a chart and submitting an order ticket, and internal data suggested those intervals were consistent with manual calculations being carried out away from the platform, whether in a spreadsheet, a calculator, or on paper. The trade planning panel brings that calculation step into the platform itself.
Trade Planning Panel Overview
The panel opens from a button within the chart toolbar and occupies a collapsible sidebar alongside the active chart. Traders enter a proposed entry price, a target price, and a stop level. The panel then calculates the distance from entry to each level in both price units and percentage terms and displays the ratio of potential gain to potential loss expressed as a number rather than a category or label.
A position size field accepts a notional value or a unit quantity. Once entered alongside the entry, target, and stop levels, the panel shows the monetary outcome implied by each leg of the trade at the instrument’s current price, calculating what a move to the target would return and what a move to the stop would cost at the size specified. All figures update as the trader adjusts any input field. No values are locked in until the trader chooses to carry them to the order ticket.
The panel does not execute a trade. Its output is informational: a summary of the levels and the size the trader has defined, displayed before any commitment is made. That separation between planning and execution is deliberate. Traders can revise any field, clear the panel entirely, or close it without any order being placed.
Setting Levels Directly from the Chart
Price levels can be entered into the panel by typing a value directly into the relevant field or by using the chart to set a level visually. When the panel is open and a trader clicks on the chart, a prompt allows the click point to be assigned as the entry price, the target price, or the stop level. A horizontal line at the corresponding price appears on the chart, labelled with the field it represents, and dragging that line updates the corresponding panel field.
This connection between the panel and the chart means the visual and the numerical representations of the trade plan remain consistent throughout the preparation process. Traders who prefer to define levels visually first, for instance by identifying a resistance level or a prior swing low, can do so and then review the numeric output in the panel without a separate data entry step.
The level lines persist on the chart for the duration of the planning session and are removed when the panel is closed or cleared. They do not appear in saved chart templates and are not carried across sessions or devices.
Carrying the Plan to the Order Ticket
Once a trader is satisfied with the levels and size defined in the panel, a single button transfers the values to the order ticket. The entry price populates the limit price field if a limit order type is selected or remains visible as a reference if a market order is chosen. The stop level populates the stop loss field. The target price populates the take profit field. The position size populates the quantity field.
Each field in the order ticket remains editable after the transfer. Traders can adjust any value before submitting, and the transfer step does not confirm or queue an order; it populates the ticket with the plan values, so the trader does not need to re-enter them manually.
Where a trader does not want to transfer all fields, individual fields can be transferred selectively. The panel displays checkboxes next to each value, allowing the trader to include or exclude any element before clicking the transfer button.
Panel Availability and Release Details
The trade planning panel is available to all registered GrowthDirect users through the browser platform from today. No account upgrade or additional setting is required. The panel is accessible from any instrument chart across all asset classes supported by the platform, including forex pairs, indices, commodities, and shares. It is available on mobile browsers as well as desktop, with the sidebar layout adapting to narrower screen widths while retaining all input fields and the chart integration layer.
The feature is included in the standard platform build and will receive updates through the regular platform release schedule. Future development may extend the panel to allow traders to save named trade plans against specific instruments, though this capability is not part of the current release.
