Bay City Boiler Invests in Steam Expertise for California Facilities
Bay City Boiler is building on 50 years of California service by investing in hands-on steam knowledge, technician capability, and regional support for facilities.

Bay City Boiler has spent five decades serving facilities across Northern and Central California. That experience continues to shape how we support customers in an industry where service providers are consolidating and equipment options can become more limited.
We remain focused on practical steam expertise, skilled technicians, and service built around each customer's existing equipment and operating needs.
Steam Systems Keep Facilities Moving
Steam systems often fade into the background when they work properly. Yet they may provide heat, hot water, sterilization, or process support for hospitals, campuses, multifamily communities, food plants, and industrial facilities.
When a boiler system goes down, the effects can spread fast. A facility may face uncomfortable occupants, interrupted operations, delayed production, or limited access to hot water.
"We know our customers depend on these systems every day," says Pete Ellery, President of Bay City Boiler. "Our job is to understand what is happening across the full steam system and help customers make smart decisions for the long run."
Knowledge Built in the Field
Bay City Boiler was founded in California in 1976 and remains independently owned. Over time, our team has worked with a broad range of boiler equipment, steam applications, and facility needs throughout the region.
Steam work requires more than a quick look at the boiler itself. A technician may need to assess controls, piping, pumps, condensate return equipment, water treatment, and operator practices before recommending a path forward.
The most useful lessons are often learned in the field. An aging system can behave differently during cold weather, after an occupancy change, or when maintenance has been deferred. That kind of knowledge comes from time spent working through real problems with customers.
Investing in Technicians and Operators
We invest in technician training because a strong service team needs ongoing learning and hands-on experience. Our people work in mechanical rooms where conditions vary from one building to the next, so practical problem-solving remains a major part of the job.
We also provide steam boiler operator training for customers and facility personnel in the Bay Area, Stockton, and Fresno. These sessions cover boiler design, combustion, controls, water chemistry, condensate systems, maintenance practices, and safe startup and shutdown procedures.
Training helps operators better understand what they see in the boiler room. It also gives them more confidence when working with maintenance teams and service technicians.
Support Across Brands and Systems
Many California facilities operate mixed boiler fleets that were installed years apart. One site may have equipment from several manufacturers, each with its own maintenance history and operating demands.
Our independent model allows us to work across a wide range of boiler equipment. We can help customers evaluate the condition of their current systems and discuss practical next steps, from repairs to upgrades and long-term modernization planning.
"We want customers to get recommendations that fit their facility," says Ellery. "Every boiler room has its own history, and good service starts with paying attention to it."
California Service With Local Roots
Bay City Boiler is family-owned, and the decisions that shape our company are made here in California. That includes how we invest in technician training and plan for customer needs across the region.
Our leadership understands who we serve because that is our local market. We work closely with California hospitals, multi-family properties, food producers, and industrial facilities daily. That perspective keeps our priorities connected to the people who rely on their boiler and steam systems to keep operating. We have supported customers since 1976 throughout Northern and Central California, including the Bay Area, Stockton, Fresno, and surrounding communities. This is where we work, but also where we live.
As customers look ahead to maintenance needs, efficiency goals, and equipment planning, Bay City Boiler remains committed to the people and knowledge behind dependable steam service.
