Kraków, Poland (October 20, 2026) – Dino-blasting, immersive FPS Athanasia is now available in Steam Early Access for $15.99, with a 10% launch discount. The Early Access version includes the first half of the game with several areas to explore, unique tools, weapons, and prehistoric creatures to overcome.
From Momentum Games and Black Lantern Collective, Athanasia is an immersive first-person shooter, inspired by System Shock and Dino Crisis. Play as Carmen Flores in an abandoned research station in South America. Find hidden routes through forgotten passages. Use improvised tools, traps, and weapons to fight off dinos. Learn how they got there, and watch your back because there could be something even more unsettling around the next corner.
After a helicopter drops you off at an overrun research station in the jungle, you’re left to your own devices to navigate the sprawling tunnels crawling with dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. It’s your job to restore access to the blood-soaked research facilities, and dig through the files to get answers.
Thoughtfulness and experimentation are key. You need to pay close attention to the tools you have at hand to move ahead. While some doors require the right keycard, many just need a simple flip of a power switch, a strong arm and a crowbar, or an improvised molotov cocktail to burn away an office worker’s makeshift blockade. Oh, and if you’re a Deus Ex fan, we’ve got vents – lots of vents to sneak through and bypass some of the more aggressive creatures (for now).
Need maps? You’ll have to search the offices to find them, but once you have one in hand, you can use the mouse to mark it up however you see fit. Label locked doors, note extra supplies, mark enemy positions, or draw a little heart to remember where to find your favorite murder scene.
Weaponry is similarly about using what you can find. Starting off, you’ll have to make due with a knife, but it won’t be long before you can dig up a crossbow and other weapons. Play it smart, and you can also use the environment to your advantage with traps, meat to lure creatures away from you, and PCs with handy self-destruct functions. (Who put that in there!?)
