HRSA review finds 4 out of 5 drugmakers out of compliance with mandatory discount drug pricing

WASHINGTON, October 19, 2026--In response to news in the 340B Report last week that was highly critical of the drug industry's noncompliance with compulsory elements of the 340B drug pricing program, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) released the following statement:

"Drug companies relentlessly attack the safety net providers that participate in the 340B program, demanding more restrictions and oversight by HRSA. But HRSA's recent audit results show that drug-companies' saber-rattling is really a diversion – meant to keep eyes off their own noncompliance with their statutory obligations to provide discounted prices to safety net providers," said Laura Boudreau, AHF Chief of Operations, Risk Management and Quality Improvement. "Rather than entertain PhRMA's 340B 'solutions' in search of a problem, we should let HRSA continue to do its important work and let the 340B program be."

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the world's largest HIV/AIDS healthcare organization, provides cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to more than 3.3 million individuals across 50 countries, including the U.S. and in Africa, Latin America/Caribbean, the Asia/Pacific Region, and Eastern Europe. In January 2025, AHF received the MLK, Jr. Social Justice Award, The King Center's highest recognition for an organization leading work in the social justice arena.
